You can set up academic requirements that students must meet to complete their educational objectives at your institution. Academic requirements enable you, advisors, and students to create academic plans and track student academic progress toward degree completion.

Setting up academic requirements involves:

Creating academic requirements using eligibility rules.

Assigning them to an academic unit and level, program of study, or program area.

Set Up Academic Progress Processing Policies.

Configure how your institution evaluates student registrations and processes academic requirements towards their program completion. You can specify whether registrations can be shared between requirements for your tenant.

Define the default dates used for evaluating academic requirements, for requirements configured at different nodes of the academic structure.

Create Academic Requirements.

Create requirements for academic unit and level combinations and programs of study. You can specify whether to restrict the requirement from academic planning.

(Optional) Create Restricted Requirement Groups.

You can use restricted requirement groups to configure exceptions to how registrations are shared between academic requirements, as configured on the academic progress processing policy.

Set Up Academic Requirement Configurations.

Configure the academic requirements you created for academic units and levels or programs of study. Academic units and programs of study under an institution inherit the institutional requirements. You can:

Assign new requirements to inherited requirements.

Add academic requirement groups. See Concept: Academic Requirement Groups.

Configure conditional criteria and assign it to students.

Assign a total academic requirement.

Configure unit and course limits with or without grade limits.

Configure the processing order for programs of study.

Configure what information your institution displays on the

report on the student profile. All of the fields display by default.

(Optional) Enable administrators and students to evaluate hypothetical academic progress for other programs of study.
