Steps: Set Up Programs of Study

Set up the academic structure of your institution. See Steps: Set Up Academic Structure.
You can define the programs of study your institution offers.
For institutions with multiple campus locations, you can configure campus assignment policies to define which campuses offer the program of study.
  1. (Optional) Access the
    Maintain Program Areas
    task.
    Create program areas to organize programs of study into groups.
    Complete the task:
    Option Description
    Program Area Type
    Example:
    Meta-Major
    or
    Humanities
    .
    Institution
    For tenants with multiple institutions, select from the academic units designated as institutions that you have access to.
    Program Area
    Example:
    STEM
    or
    Arts
    .
    Inactive
    Select the check box to prevent the program area from displaying in prompts.

    domain in the Academic Foundation functional area.
  2. (Optional) Access the
    Maintain Campus Assignment Policy
    task.
    Specify the campus locations that offer the program of study. You can configure the policy by academic unit and level or program of study.
    Workday also uses this policy to define allowed campus locations for:
    • Student recruiting events.
    • Student applications and admissions decisions.
    • Program of study and course offerings.
    By default, Workday allows the program of study at all locations with a usage of
    Campus
    . See Create Locations.
