Create Academic Requirements

Create Academic Requirements

You can create academic requirements to track student progress toward completing their educational objectives.
After you create academic requirements, you can assign them to an academic unit and level, program of study, or program area.
  1. Access the
    Create Academic Requirement
    task.
  2. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Effective Date
Workday applies this date to the eligibility rule you use in the academic requirement, enabling you to create different versions of the same requirement.
Example: The Humanities academic requirement has different sets of courses for 2020 and 2021. Select different effective dates to create different versions of the Humanities academic requirement.
    Restricted from Academic Planning
Select the check box for academic requirements that students don't need to include in their academic plans. Workday doesn't display the academic requirement on these tasks:
    • Create Academic Plan
    • Create Academic Plan Template
    • Edit Academic Plan
    • Edit Academic Plan Template Version
    Examples:
    • 120 Overall Units.
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.0.
This example illustrates a set of academic requirements that you might create for the undergraduate students at Alma Mater University:
