Steps: Manage Student Registrations

You can use several tasks and reports in Workday to manage student course registrations easily and efficiently every academic period.
  1. Set up registration appointments to enable students to register for courses independently.
  2. Register students for courses.
    Access 1 of these tasks:
    • Register Student for Course
      to register 1 student at a time.
    • Mass Register Students
      to register multiple students or student groupings.
    Security: These domains in the Student Records functional area:
    • Manage: Registration Actions
    • Manage: Special Registration
  3. (Optional) Help students manage course section waitlists.
  4. (Optional) Help students resolve registration issues.
  5. (Optional) Modify student registrations.
    Select one of these buttons in the
    Current Classes
    report on the Academics profile group of any student profile:
    Button
    Security
    Use Case
    Edit Registration
    Security: Configure the
    Student Course Registration Change Event
    business process and security policy in the Student Records functional area.
    Change the units and grading basis on a student's in-progress registration records.
    Students can also use this button to change their in-progress registrations without dropping and reregistering for the course. The selected course must use variable grading bases and units.
    Reassign Course Registration
    Security:
    Manage: Course Registration Reassignments domain
    domain in the Student Records functional area.
    Reassign course registrations, including transfer credit, from one academic record to another for students with multiple academic records.
    Changes to registrations can initiate recalculations for student charges in the nightly job orchestration.
  6. (Optional) Mass drop students from courses when they no longer meet the prerequisites.
Students can view registration activity, including future courses, using these grids on the
Current Classes
report of the Academics profile group of the student profile:
  • My Enrolled Courses
    .
  • My Dropped/Withdrawn Courses
    .
You can also use the
Registration Audit History
report to view details about past course registration transactions, including mass registrations and unsuccessful registrations. You won’t see waitlisted registrations in the report.
