Yes. Example: You can use a time block create calculation to add an hour of marking or grading for every tutoring session taught.

No. You can create position-based time calculation groups to run calculations for select positions without persisting position on time blocks.

You can create a new position-based time calculation group with an eligibility rule that references attributes on the position, not the worker.

When a worker checks out for a meal and checks in after the meal for another position, Workday creates a time block for the position the worker was in before the meal.

Previously, when Workday used time block create calculations to generate time blocks for workers with multiple positions, we associated the time blocks with the primary position but didn't display the position. For clarity, we now display the position directly on the time block.

Workday determines the position to display on system-generated time blocks based on your time calculation group configuration. For:

Worker-based time calculation groups, Workday displays the primary position.
Position-based time calculation groups, Workday displays either the primary or additional position for which the calculation runs, depending on your configuration.

These time calculation groups enable you to base calculations on position criteria. You can:

Generate time blocks for specific positions, rather than always populating with the primary position.
Run calculations only for specific positions.
Combine position-based and worker-based calculations.

No. Once you save a time calculation group, you can't change the

check box.

We evaluate calculations in order of priority. Workday checks the eligibility of the worker or 1 or more of their positions. If multiple positions meet the eligibility criteria for a position-based group, Workday evaluates the calculation for each position.

Yes. To apply calculations to already-entered time, rerun time calculations for the relevant periods.

Currently, Workday displays position-based totals on only the classic view of the time entry calendar. We always display totals for the primary position. As workers enter time against other positions, Workday displays that time in the side panel. You can't currently hide zero values.

Align time shift settings with the calculation settings. Only these configurations are valid:

Don't select position-based shifts, and continue to use worker-based shifts with worker time calculations.
Select position-based shifts, and pair them with position-based time calculations.

You can use position-based shifts to create a shift per position defined by the settings on the time entry template. When time blocks that are normally grouped into a shift for 1 position are interrupted by a time block for another position, the shift ends at the point of interruption. When the interrupting block ends before the scheduled shift end of the first position, Workday creates a new shift for the original position after the interrupting block.

The prompt enables you to easily filter for eligible workers based on collective agreement. You can use the prompt in both worker-based and position-based time calculation groups.

Add the time calculation to a position-based time calculation group. Then, configure the eligibility rule to include only the relevant positions.

When you use a worker-based eligibility rule, Workday runs the time calculations individually for all positions for the workers. As the number of workers that you do this for increases, the number of times the calculations run also increases, which can impact performance.

No. Workday runs the time calculation separately for each position.

You can create system-generated time blocks based on worker-based or position-based time offs.
