Example: Calculate Overtime per Position

This example illustrates how to calculate overtime per position for multiposition workers by using position-based time calculation groups.
You must pay multiposition workers overtime for any hours over 40 worked in each of their positions. A worker has 2 positions and works these hours in a 2-week period:

  1. Access the
    Create Time Calculation Group
    task.
    Create a position-based time calculation group.
    1. In the
      Name
      field, enter
      USA Hourly Workers
      .
    2. Select the
      Position Based
      check box.
    3. In the
      Effective Date
      field, select the current date from the calendar prompt.
    4. Click
      OK
      and
      Done
      .
  2. Access the
    Create Time Calculation
    task.
    Create an overtime calculation.
    1. In the
      Name
      field, enter
      Weekly Overtime
      .
    2. From the
      Calculation Type
      prompt, select
      Standard Overtime Calculation
      .
    3. Click
      OK
      .
    4. Complete the
      General Options
      tab:
      Option

      Period
      Weekly
      Replace Hours Greater than (value)
      40
      Include Calculation Tags
      Regular
      Add Tags
      Overtime
      Time Day Based On
      Calculated Date
    5. On the
      Groups
      tab, complete the
      Time Calculation Snapshots
      grid.
