Steps: Create Evaluations for Selective Admissions

Steps: Create Evaluations for Selective Admissions

You can enable reviewers to evaluate applications for admission by reviewing requirements and completing evaluation questionnaires.
  1. Configure the Workday-delivered Application Review Dashboard.
  2. Access the
    Maintain Evaluation View Policy
    task.
Assign evaluation views to academic units and levels to determine the data that reviewers can access.
You can also use this task to disable evaluations for an academic unit and level.
    Security:
    Manage: Admissions Foundation
domain in the Admissions functional area.
  3. Review application requirements with a
    Process Delay
    of
    Evaluation
for their impacts on admissions evaluations. Workday starts evaluations when all application requirements with a
    Process Delay
    of
    Evaluation
are complete, unless you configure evaluations to start manually after verification. Incomplete action items with a
    Process Delay
    of
    Decision
    won't stop evaluations from starting.
  4. (Optional) Set up application verifications to make sure that applications are accurate and complete.
  5. (Optional) Create admissions committees to enable multiple reviewers to evaluate student applications simultaneously.
  6. Configure the
    Admissions Evaluation Event
business process and security policy in the Admissions functional area.
As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Admissions Evaluation
Configure this step to route the evaluation to an individual reviewer.
    Add Initial Internal Decision
Configure this step to populate an initial internal decision for the application. Initial internal decisions enable you to consolidate decision recommendations for a program of study in a joint program.
    Manage Admissions Committee Evaluation
Configure this step to route the evaluation to members of an admissions committee.
Users in the security group defined here only manage the committee evaluations; they don't evaluate the applications. Instead, they can move the evaluation forward and skip any or all evaluations assigned to the committee.
Example: A committee member is sick and can't review their pending evaluations. Users in this security group can move the evaluation forward in spite of the missing evaluation, preventing the missing evaluation from holding up the evaluation process.
    See:
  7. Edit Domain Security Policies.
Configure the security policies for these domains in the Admissions functional area:
    Domain
    Description
    Manage: Evaluation Assignments
Configure the domain to enable access to the
    Manage Evaluation Assignments
    report and
    Mass Update Evaluation Assignment
    task, which enable you to:
    • View current student application evaluation assignments for an application grouping and application pool.
    • Change the evaluators or committees assigned to review applications.
    Manage: Evaluation Processing
Configure the domain to enable access to the
    Manage My Evaluations
report, which enables reviewers to view all student applications assigned to them, filter by available criteria, and begin or resume evaluations.
