Steps: Manage Sana Content in Workday
You might need to take additional steps to enable this feature based on your organization's subscription service agreement. Your organization is either on the Main Service Agreement (MSA) or the Universal Main Service Agreement (UMSA). To determine your organization's subscription service agreement:
- Select your profile avatar onWorkday Community.
- SelectProfile.
- On your profile page, select your organization's name, which is beneath your name and next to your job title.
- View yourSubscription Service Agreementvalue.
If the value is:
- MSA, you must enable this feature through Innovation Services using Enable Innovation Services Feature and AI Data Contributions for MSA Customers.
Note: UMSA customers don't have Innovation Services tasks and reports in their tenants as these are for MSA customers only. UMSA customers can ignore all information regarding Innovation Services.

With Workday Learning, powered by Sana, workers with content creator access author self-paced content in
Sana Create
. Workers with Learning admin access manage how submitted content is used in your Workday Learning catalog. Workday Learning remains your system of record for assignments, enrollments, learning records, and reporting.Adding submitted content to a course requires workers with Learning admin access and catalog domains.
- Access theLearning Admin Hub.
- Select .Security:Manage: Learning Native Contentdomain.
- ClickCreate Content.InSana Create, you can build self-paced Sana content. Eligible users can collaborate in real time, start from templates, use AI-assisted authoring, and create content from existing files such as PDFs, SCORM packages, and images. For details about authoring in Sana Create, see Workday Learning Powered by Sana Help Center.
- When the content is ready inSana Create, clickSubmit.
- Enter the title, image, and content description, then continue through the submit flow inSana Create.
- ClickSubmit to Admin Hub.Submitted content appears in theLearning Admin Hubfor you to add it to Workday Learning courses.
- On theLearning Admin Hub, locate theSana content ready to add to a Workday coursetable.
- For the content you want to add to a learning course, clickAdd To.
- Add the content to a new or existing Workday Learning course.
- To create a new course or configure course details, see Create Learning Courses.
- To add or change lessons on an existing course, see View and Edit Learning Content.
You can add an instance of Sana content to only one Workday Learning course. - Make the course available to learners using your standard learning administration processes.
- For blended courses that include Sana content, schedule a course offering and enroll learners. See Create Learning Course Offerings.
- For digital courses that include Sana content, use your usual methods to open the course for enrollment and assign or enroll learners. See Setup Considerations: Learning Enrollments.
- (Optional) Assign the course to learners through learning assignments, campaigns, or mass enrollment, as you do for other learning content.
- (Optional) To edit Sana content that is already added to a course, accessSana Createfrom theLearning Admin Hub. See How editing a course affects learners.Workday Learning:
- Doesn't allow you to edit Sana content on Workday Learning course tasks.
- Updates the Sana Content lesson in the associated course to reflect the latest version. Workday doesn't create a duplicate course
Sana content you add to a course uses the same assignment, enrollment, and reporting processes as your other Workday Learning content. Workday Learning records progress and completion from Sana in your existing learning records. After you make the course available, eligible learners open the
Sana Content
lesson from the course in Workday Learning while Sana Learn provides the in-lesson experience.- Confirm learners can access the course through your usual enrollment and assignment processes.
