Concept: Manager Guide for Peakon
Your interactive Peakon dashboard is unique to you as a leader, and it presents the most relevant insights on the employees that you lead. The dashboard enables you to view high-level trends, make comparisons between employee groups, and deep-dive into areas of interest.
This guide presents the 3 five-minute steps to review your dashboard in only 15 minutes, using a simple model that we call
Your Peakon 15
.- Review
- Respond
- Action
Spending 15 minutes in Peakon reviewing your insights, interacting with comments, and setting actions has been proven to help drive your team’s engagement, while you learn about what really motivates your team and how they feel. These three steps will allow you to understand your latest scores, trends, and segmentation; review and respond to employee comments; and set actions and share them with your team.
Step 1: Review
To collect and show data on your dashboard, Peakon asks various types of questions that include driver questions and open-ended questions. Your organization can also ask questions related to other topics. Example: The health and wellbeing of your employees or your organization’s efforts to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace.
You can read the front page of your dashboard from top to bottom, starting from your overall engagement score. Peakon uses average scores and eNPS to calculate scores. See Concept: Engagement Score and Concept: eNPS Score. After a couple of survey rounds, you’ll be able to see how scores are trending and which drivers have the biggest impact on engagement. To provide context to your score, your team score benchmarks against your company’s average score. To adjust for varying demographics, a true benchmark can make necessary adjustments to your score. See Concept: Benchmarking and Concept: True Benchmark.
Step 2: Respond
Our data indicates that interacting with comments on Peakon leads to higher participation rates. Letting employees know that you've heard their concerns ensures continued participation and higher quality feedback. Use one of the acknowledgment options or reply with a conversation to close the feedback loop and help guide your action planning. See Concept: Comment Acknowledgments and Concept: Comment Conversations.
Step 3: Action
Setting actions in Peakon has shown to have a significant impact on driver scores over time. Based on the data and feedback that you’ve reviewed, you can now set focus areas, create an action plan targeted to improve these driver scores, and assign deadlines. When setting actions, you can create your own custom actions, use existing recommended actions, or take inspiration from your team's suggestions on your focus areas. See Concept: Team Suggestions on Focus Areas. We recommend considering a few quick wins that you can make each month as well as longer-term actions to work towards over an extended period of time.
Sharing the dashboard provides a lightweight version of your dashboard to your team and is a good way to communicate what you’re working on directly to your team. See Share Your Dashboard. Alternatively, if your team uses personal dashboards, they can access your focus areas and action plans (if enabled by your organization), so we recommend keeping them up to date. See Concept: Personal Dashboards From Manager Perspective.
We also provide micro-courses and curated articles for each driver that can help you address the driver's scores. See Concept: Improve Hub
