Concept: Comment Conversations

Concept: Comment Conversations

Managers can view and interact with comments from survey responses by initiating conversations. Managers can also add internal notes directly from employee comments. These conversations enable managers to gain insights into employee sentiment by asking follow-up questions or leaving responses.

Direct Conversations

When managers initiate conversations from a comment, the identity of the employee remains protected throughout the conversation.
Employees receive an email containing:
  • Comment text.
  • Comment date.
  • Manager response.
  • Manager name.
The email to employees also emphasizes that their identities remain protected.
Managers can click the conversation icon on comments to initiate conversations and can then click
Reply
or
Note
options.

Internal Notes

Managers can use internal notes to bring comments to the attention of other leaders by using an @mention tag. Example:
Can you please create an action to address this @melissa.smith?
It's only possible to @mention managers or leaders who already have access to the comment and the conversation functionality. You can also mention different users if they have necessary access. Example: HR partners or facilities administrator.

Manager Hierarchy

You can click the eye icon on the comment to display the names of managers with access to the comment.
The manager hierarchy list works in line with the confidentiality settings. If a manager segment is hidden due to overlapping segments or the minimum threshold of survey participants is not met, the list won't display the full manager hierarchy or skip a manager.
A manager must view the comment in the exact segment context the comment resides in order to view the full manager hierarchy list.

Manager View

Managers can view:
  • Lists of managers with access to the comment, filtered by reporting proximity to the employees. Example: Employee line manager, followed by departmental manager.
  • The entire conversation thread on each comment, including replies from other managers.
  • Replies from employees with no name attached.

Access

The
Access conversations
permission enables an access control group to reply to comments. The permission also enables them to see existing conversations on comments they have access to.

Metrics

It's possible to see statistics on acknowledgments in
