Steps: Set Up Contract Lifecycle Management Workflows
- Enable access to Workflow Builder.
- You need administrator access or have a custom role with the Workflow Builder: Manage permission.
With Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) you can configure contract workflows with conditions that activate defined events. In CLM, you can use Workflow Builder to define and automate each stage in the lifecycle for a contract, from intake to finalization.
- In the Workflow creation form, select theWorkday Source to Paytoggle and select:
- Procurementto pass the contract to Procurement as a supplier contract.
- Workday Strategic Sourcingto create supplier contracts that are not passed to Procurement.
- Select document type allowances.Indicate if workflow users can upload existing documents, generate them from templates, or both. See Concept: Document Type Allowances.
- Map template fields to intake form questions.Use theFormtab to link placeholders in your .docx template to specific user responses. Configure any conditional fields, clauses, or requirements based on submissions. See Concept: Forms in Workflows.
- Define post-signature tasks such as verifying the documents.
- Configure workflow settings.Set the archive destination, file naming conventions, and user access permissions on theSettingstab. See Concept: Workflow Settings.Select aContract Typeto determine which procurement contract type Workday creates when the CLM ticket is finalized.
- Publish the workflow.
Share the workflow intake form to enable users to submit new tickets. See Reference: Workflow Intake Form Links.
