Steps: Set Up Student Recruiting

You can set up student recruiting to manage prospective students.
  1. Access the
    Business Process Security Policies for Functional Area
     report.
    Set up business processes and security policies in the Student Recruiting functional area.
    Security:
    Security Activation
     and
    Security Configuration
     domains in the System functional area.
  2. Set up dashboards and worklets for student recruiting.
    Configure and enable the Student Recruiting dashboard and worklets.
  3. (Optional) Create Locations.
    From the
    Location Usages
     prompt, select the
    Campus
     option for locations that are available for assignment on student recruitments.
  4. (Optional) Access the
    Maintain Campus Assignment Policy
     task.
    Verify the allowed campus locations for student recruiting events.
    Workday also uses this policy to define the allowed campus locations for:
    • Student applications and admissions decisions.
    • Program of study and course offerings.
    By default, Workday allows all locations with a usage of
    Campus
    .
    Security:
    Set Up: Campus Assignment
     domain in the Student Records functional area.
  5. Enable activity streams for student recruiting.
    Enable and configure security for these activity streams:
    • Student Recruiting Campaign
    • Student Recruiting Event
    • Student Recruitment
    Example: Application reviewers for subordinate academic units that admit students can view and add comments related to a recruitment when given access to the activity stream.
  6. (Optional) Access the
    Maintain Student Prospect Stage Progression Rules
     task.
    When you select an update action and stages for the action, Workday automatically advances prospects after they complete the action.
    Security:
    Manage: Student Prospect Stage Progression
     domain in the Student Recruiting functional area.
  7. Access the
    Create Postal Code Set
     task.
    You can create postal codes to define recruiting regions that align with geographic areas, such as College Board regions.
    For U.S. postal codes, use 5 digits. When a prospect has a 9-digit postal code, Workday truncates the code to 5 digits before matching the prospect to a region.
    Security: These domains:
    • Manage: Student Recruiting Region
       in the Student Recruiting functional area.
    • Set Up: Benefits
       in the Benefits functional area.
  8. (Optional) Configure integrations for student recruiting.
  9. (Optional) Generate unique Student IDs and display them in prospect profiles.
  10. Create engagement plans to communicate with prospective students during the recruiting process.
    Example: Invite prospective students to a recruiting event hosted by your institution.
