Configure the Student Application Create Event
business process and security policy in the Recruiting and Admissions functional area.

Create External Student Sites.

Create Applicant Home Pages.

You can configure online admission applications so students can apply directly from your external student site, making it easier for them to apply to your institution.

Configure Academic Units for Level.

Verify that the academic unit can admit students and offer programs of study.

When a subordinate academic unit admits students, student prospects must apply directly to the subordinate academic unit for any programs of study that it offers.

Create Programs of Study.

Create programs of study that can admit students.

As you complete the task, consider:

Option	Description
Owning Academic Unit Owning Academic Level	Select an academic unit and level that is the same as or subordinate to the academic unit and level of the external student site.
Program Type	Select a program of study type that can admit students and stand alone as the student's only educational objective. See Concept: Programs of Study.
First Entry Date	Enter a date that occurs before the start of the applicant's application period.

Create Application Groupings.

Enter these dates to define when online applications can be accepted for the application grouping:

(Optional) Configure Questionnaires and Questions.

You can add questionnaires to student applications. You can also reuse questionnaires across different student applications. Example: All undergraduate applicants must submit a personal essay regardless of intended program of study.

Workday displays questionnaires on the external student site in plain text format only.

(Optional) Configure security segments for admissions application questionnaires.

You can configure segment-based access to admissions application questionnaires and responses. Security segments for admissions application questionnaires don't support constrained role-based security groups, only unconstrained.

Configure the admissions application for the academic unit and level or program of study that you want to accept applications for.

Complete the task:

Option	Description
Application Configuration Rule Set	Select the admissions application configuration for the academic unit and level or program of study.
Refuse New Applications	(Optional) Select to prevent applications from applying on the external student site for the academic unit and level or program of study.

Workday generates the online application URL based on the admissions application configuration policy that’s effective for the program of study as of the academic period start date.
