Steps: Manage Applicant Scores and Application GPAs

You can use applicant scores and application GPAs to:
  • Analyze trends and assess the likelihood of admission to your institution.
  • Use on student eligibility rules and route applicants to specific applicant pools and processes.
  • Use on initial internal decision recommendations to better filter applicants for admission.
  1. Access the
    Create Student Applicant Score Scale
     task.
    Security:
    Manage: Admissions
     domain in the Admissions functional area.
  2. Access the
    Create Student Application GPA
     task.
    (Optional) Select the
    Custom GPA Calculator Only
     check box to limit the student application GPA to the custom GPA calculator. When the check box is clear, the GPA is available everywhere, including:
    • The custom GPA calculator.
    • Mass operations.
    • Ad hoc calculations.
    • Worksheets.

  4. Create calculations to use in student applicant score calculation and application GPA policies.
    • In the
      Category
       prompt, select
      Admissions
      .
    • Workday strongly recommends that you select a value for the
      Academic Unit
       prompt for calculations in the Admissions or Student categories.
  6. Calculate applicant scores and application GPAs and record them on student applications.
    • To calculate high volumes of applicant scores and application GPAs, set up mass operations.
    • To calculate applicant scores and application GPAs using formulas, set up Worksheets.
    • To calculate ad hoc applicant scores and application GPAs for an application:
      1. Access the
        Admissions Calculations
         report on the Application profile group of student prospect profiles.
      2. Click
        Calculate
         for the relevant calculation type:
        • Student Applicant Score
        • Student Application GPA
        Security:

    • To customize the external educational institutions included in the Overall Custom GPA for an application, use the custom GPA calculator:
      1. Access the
        Academic Criteria
         report on the Application profile group of student prospect profiles.
      2. In the Student Application Custom GPA Calculator section, click
        Calculate
        .
