Concept: Search

The search feature in Contract Management and Document Intelligence enables you to generate text-based and filtered searches, which you can save, share, or export as Excel spreadsheets. You can refine document searches using metadata filters for any contract data field and add multiple filters to narrow a search.
The search interface displays the complete count of matching documents returned by your query, providing full visibility into your entire dataset.
You can access the search feature from the main navigation bar for these functions:
  • Boolean text search
  • Advanced search
  • Filter management
  • Saved and shared searches
  • Result review and actions

Boolean Text Search

You can access recently viewed files and searches, input text queries, and use Boolean operators to include, exclude, and combine search terms.

Advanced Search

You can build search queries using a combination of text and filters for any contract data field. You can use Boolean operators in the search bar, and you can add data fields as filters. You can access Advanced Query Builder for complex queries.

Filter Management

You can pin filters for easy access, restrict search results to contracts in specific folders, and search for documents that do or do not contain a specific clause. For details about searching for key clauses, see Search for Clauses

Saved and Shared Searches

You can save searches, customize viewer permissions, and use dedicated links to access, bookmark, and share saved searches.

Result Review

When you run a search, you can perform these actions on the documents in your search results:
  • Add documents to a group. You can group documents that share the same counterparty to manage related contracts more efficiently. For details, see: Manage Document and Ticket Groups
  • Move documents: You can move documents to a secure location, often for review by a separate team.
  • Copy documents: You can copy documents to another location, often to share with a different team or retain a version for reference.
  • Edit document metadata: You can edit document metadata fields in the Overview tab, often to correct or update key information. For details, see: Bulk Edit Data Fields
  • Delete documents: You can delete documents from the workspace, often to remove outdated or incorrect files that are no longer needed.
  • Export results: You can export search results to an Excel file for further analysis or reporting. For details, see: Export Search Results to Excel
Moving, deleting, or copying a document may also affect any duplicates created from it. For details about duplicates, See Concept: Duplicate Files.
