Steps: Manage Student Matriculation
The matriculation process converts applicants to students. You can manually matriculate students or enable Workday to automatically matriculate students using one of these business processes in the Admissions functional area:
- Student Application Fast Path Event
- Student Application Pre-Matriculation Event
Applicants complete only 1 of those business processes depending on if their program of study is fast path-enabled or not. For any tasks and activities that should apply to students regardless of their program of study, we recommend you add them to the
Student Onboarding Event
business process instead. You can also include administrative tasks in your matriculation processes, such as adding name pronunciation or setting up family and friends. When the matriculation process completes, Workday:
- Creates the academic record for the student.
- Appends programs to an existing academic record based on append policies you configure.
- Sets the status of the student's program of study asMatriculated.
