domain in Student Records functional area.By default, Workday creates an academic record for the student the first and every time they matriculate into a program of study. You can configure Workday to append incoming programs to an existing academic record during matriculation.
Appending programs to academic records enables you to:
- Combine programs on the same academic record so credit counts towards both programs.Example: A student who previously completed an associate program is now matriculating into an undergraduate program.
- Accommodate stackable programs coming in through a new application.Example: A graduate student in Psychology is now matriculating into the Certificate in Organizational Psychology program.
- Accommodate students who are reapplying and matriculating into the same program after a break.
- Access theMaintain Academic Record Append Policytask.
- As you complete the task, consider:
Option Description Allow Append to Same ProgramSelect this check box to accommodate students who reapply to the same program they previously discontinued. Matriculation appends the incoming program to their previous academic record.Unlock Completed Academic RecordSelect this check box to start automated processing when matriculation appends an incoming program to a completed academic record. Workday starts calculating student statistics, such as:- Course repeats.
- Academic standing.
- GPA.
You can view conferral details for a completed academic record on theView Complete Programs for Studentreport.When you select both theAllow Append to Same ProgramandUnlock Completed Academic Recordcheck boxes, Workday won't unlock the original academic record and append the program of study to a completed record if that same program was previously completed by the student. Instead, Workday creates a new academic record.Programs Available for AppendingThe matriculation process uses this information to append programs to a student's academic record automatically.
