Create Student Recruiting Campaigns

Create Student Recruiting Campaigns

  • Create the student recruiting cycle.
  • Create admissions counselors.
  • Configure the
    Student Recruiting Campaign Event
business process and security policy in the Student Recruiting functional area.
Create a campaign for a student recruiting cycle. Specify the campaign start date, owner, budgeted amount, and other details. After you set up a campaign, you can define recruiting events for it.
  1. Access the
    Create Student Recruiting Campaign
    task.
  2. As you complete the task, consider:
    Field
    Description
    Recruiting Cycle
The recruiting cycle identifies the academic unit, levels, and academic date range for the campaign.
    Type
Select from the Workday-delivered values, such as
    Regional
    or
    Campus Event.
The campaign type can help you find and report on the campaign.
    Owner
The prompt includes all admissions counselors. The owner is usually the primary admissions counselor.
You can find recruiting campaigns by owner.
    Start Date
Events associated with the campaign can begin on or after this date.
    End Date
Leave this field blank if the campaign is open-ended.
    Recruitment Target
Enter the total number of new student prospects you hope to identify through recruiting events, search services, and marketing activities associated with the campaign.
The yield reported for a campaign represents the actual number of new prospects attributed to the campaign. (Prospects with a
    Source
value of Event, Search Service, or Marketing and a
    Source Detail
value that identifies an event, search service, or marketing activity tied to the campaign.)
    Budget
The budgeted cost of the campaign.
If you use Workday Expenses or Procurement, admissions counselors can select the campaign name as a worktag when they file expense reports, enabling you to compare budgeted and actual costs.
When you create events for the campaign, you can enter a budgeted amount for each event.
    Currency
The currency automatically populates from your preferences.
The campaign is available:
  • Through the
    Find Student Recruiting Campaigns
    report.
    Through the
    Admissions Funnel by Anticipated Start
report. You can use it to compare your recruiting efforts with admitted prospects for a particular start term.
You can also view information for all your campaigns on the
    Campaign Summary Report
    report. Workday displays:
    • Recruiting events, admissions counselors, search services, and marketing activities for the campaign as you add them.
    • Total Costs
, which tracks all expenses entered with the campaign worktag.
    • The
      Yield
, which tracks the number of prospects sourced to the campaign through a search service, marketing activity, or recruiting event.
Workday also routes the campaign for approval.
After approving the campaign, you can:
  • Associate it with engagement plans and recruiting regions by selecting
    Student Recruiting Campaign
    Edit
    from the related actions menu.
  • Define recruiting events for it.
  • Associate marketing activities and search service definitions with it.
