Steps: Set Up Career Hub
You might need to take additional steps to enable this feature based on your organization's subscription service agreement. Your organization is either on the Main Service Agreement (MSA) or the Universal Main Service Agreement (UMSA). To determine your organization's subscription service agreement:
- Select your profile avatar on Workday Community.
- SelectProfile.
- On your profile page, select your organization's name, which is beneath your name and next to your job title.
- View yourSubscription Service Agreementvalue.
If the value is:
- UMSA, the feature is automatically available. You can skip theEnable Innovation Services Feature and AI Data Contributions for MSA Customersstep. For more information on Machine Learning data contributions, see Concept: Workday AI for Universal Main Subscription Agreement Customers.
- MSA, you must enable this feature through Innovation Services using theEnable Innovation Services Feature and AI Data Contributions for MSA Customersstep.
Note: UMSA customers don't have Innovation Services tasks and reports in their tenants as these are for MSA customers only. UMSA customers can ignore all information regarding Innovation Services.

The
Career Hub
provides your employees with personalized mentoring, connections, skills, flex teams, projects, and job recommendations to advance their careers within your organization. You must be a Talent Marketplace customer to access flex teams and jobs within the Career Hub
, and a Projects and Talent Marketplace customer to access projects within the Career Hub

To include maintained skills in machine learning matching, you also need to selectInclude Tenanted Skills in Matchingon theMaintain Skills and Experience Setuptask. - Access theEdit Tenant Setup - Machine Learningtask.Select the region in which Workday hosts data used for improvement and personalization of machine learning and analytics functionality.Security:Set Up: Tenant Setup - Machine Learningdomain in the System functional area.
- Access theMaintain Skills and Experience Setuptask.In theSkillssection, select:
- Enable Workday Skills Cloud
- Populate Suggested Skills for Workers
- (Optional)Include Tenanted Skills in Matching. To enable this setting, MSA customers must also select theSkills Datacategory for AI data contribution.

- Edit Domain Security Policies.Set up domain security policies for the features you want to enable in theCareer Hub. For details, see Reference: Career Hub Security. These domains are required for theCareer Hub:
- Self-Service: Career Hubin the Career and Development Planning and Career Hub functional areas.
- Self-Service: Current Staffing Informationin the Staffing functional area.
- Self-Service: Interestsin the Career and Development Planning functional area.
- Self-Service: Skillsin the Worker Profile and Skills functional area.
- Access theBusiness Process Security Policies for Functional Areareport.Select from the related actions menu of these business processes:
- Manage Interests
- (Optional)Manage Mentorship
For workers to complete their Career Hub profile setup and have the ability to view and select skill interests and job profiles, set up an initiation step and remove any approval steps for theManage Interestsbusiness process.Security: These domains in the System functional area:- Security Activation

- Activate Pending Security Policy Changes.
- (Optional) Create Company-Defined Career Paths.If you want to enable company-defined career paths, create the paths for your organization.
- Access theEdit Tenant Setup – HCMtask.As you complete theTalentsection, consider:OptionDescriptionEnabled Opportunities within Opportunity MarketplaceTheFlex Teams,Jobs, andProjectsoptions enable opportunity types in Career Hub.Enable Learning within the Opportunity MarketplaceProvide learning suggestions as a part of match analysis within Career Hub.Enable Additional Details within Job Match AnalysisSelect this check box to enable workers to view additional details for a job posting and whether they are a match:
- Location: A primary or additional location that matches the worker's location, or a list of all locations if there is no match.
- Languages, certifications, and education: All qualifications that the worker matches, and any required qualifications that the worker does not match.
Enable Flex Teams Express Interest NotesSelect the option to enable workers to create a customized message when expressing interest in a flex team. If enabled, a custom note isn't required to express interest. Workers can write a custom note, or leave the message field blank.Disabling the option after a worker has expressed interest with a custom note removes the note from the worker's profile.Security:Set Up: Tenant Setup - HCMdomain in the System functional area. - (Optional) Enable AI assistance for generating development items. If this option is enabled, workers see theRemove Suggestionoption on a flex team card on the Career HubSuggestions for Youpage.TheRemove Suggestionoption is available on both simple and advanced flex teams.When a worker selectsRemove Suggestion, they are presented with a confirmation card. SelectingDon't show me this message againprevents the confirmation card from surfacing when removing additional suggestions.Removed suggestions won't appear again on theSuggestions for Youpage. Workers can search for removed suggestions on theBrowse All Opportunitiespage.Edit Explore PreferencesBy default, employees view job profile names in theCareer Huband Opportunity Graph. SelectDisplay Default Job Title Instead of Job Profile Nameto surface the employee’s business title for their own role, and default job titles for other roles.All Explore sections are enabled by default. SelectCustomized Configurationto configure the sections enabled for Career Hub Explore.To remove access to a section, uncheck theEnabledoption on the applicable row.Section headers are customizable and can be overwritten to provide an improved user experience for your organization's employees. Enter a value in theHeader Overridefield to replace theDefault Headertext.To configureCareer Path Builder Source Preferences, see Configure Career Path Builder.Edit Plan PreferencesTheGoals Enabledoption is enabled. When selected, this option enables employees to track individual goals in Career Hub Plan.TheGoal Categories Enabledfield appears when you select theGoals Enabledoption. - Access theMaintain Career Hub and Opportunity Marketplacetask. In theEdit Quick Linkstab, selectCustomized Configurationand add theManage Job AlertsandMy Referralsreports for Career Hub.
