Create Company-Defined Career Paths

You can create and maintain career paths for your organization to help guide your employees’ career development.
You can also mass create, update, and delete company-defined career paths using the
Put Company-Defined Career Path
web service. See Maintain Career Paths Using the Put Company-Defined Career Path EIB.

  1. Access the
    Maintain Company-Defined Career Paths
    report.
  2. Click
    Create
    .
  3. Enter a
    Name
    for the career path.
  4. (Optional) Enter a
    Description
    .
  5. In the table, add a row and specify the job profile for each step of the path.
    The top row is the most junior step in the path, and the bottom row is the target role. Only public and active job profiles are available to add to company-defined career paths. You can add up to 50 steps to a career path.
    If you create a career path with the same job profile for more than 1 step, employees may encounter errors when using the path.
  6. Click
    OK
    and
    Done
    .
  • Access the
    Maintain Career Hub and Opportunity Marketplace
    task to enable company-defined career paths as a source for next moves. See Configure Career Path Builder.
  • Configure the
    View: Company-Defined Career Path
    domain to enable employees to access these paths in the
    Career Hub
    .
