Concept: On-Prem Data Connectors
NetSuite Basic is no longer the recommended integration method. For optimal performance and access to the latest features, we recommend that you transition to NetSuite Integrations. For detailed information about NetSuite Integrations, see Concept: Integrate With NetSuite.
On-Prem Data Connectors are extensible components that you install on your computer to:
- Extract information from:
- JDBC-compliant databases.
- Scripted data sources.
- Remote and on-premise sources inaccessible to other data sources.
- Provide secure access to applications and manage connections to your Adaptive Planning instances.
- Only connect to on-premises databases. Connecting to cloud databases with an On-Prem Data Connector isn't supported.
Based on the location of your Adaptive Planning instance, your authorization URLs and API endpoints can vary. For more information, see Reference: Adaptive Planning Authentication URLs and IP Addresses.
On-Prem Data Connector Manager
The On-Prem Data Connector Manager installation includes a desktop utility, the On-Prem Data Connector Manager, which:
- Installs as a Java application and runs as a Windows service.
- Enables you to set up and configure the On-Prem Data Connector Service.
- Manages your On-Prem Data Connectors from behind your firewall.
- Provides access to specific data that you request.
Each instance of the On-Prem Data Connector Service you install hosts one or more On-Prem Data Connectors.
Adaptive Planning Gateway
When the On-Prem Data Connector Service runs, it long-polls the Adaptive Planning Gateway. The Gateway:
- Runs as a server brokering communication through your firewall to the On-Prem Data Connector Service.
- Receives requests from Adaptive Planning on behalf of all On-Prem Data Connectors hosted by the service.
