Install the On-Prem Data Connector Manager

Install the On-Prem Data Connector Manager

Install the On-Prem Data Connector Manager on the Windows computer you plan on connecting to Adaptive Planning via an On-Prem Data Connector. Usually, one installation can contact all of your source systems. If a single installation can't connect to all of your source systems, install the On-Prem Data Connector Manager on other computers that can connect to the source systems.
Based on the location of your Adaptive Planning instance, your authorization URLs and API endpoints can vary. For more information, see Reference: Adaptive Planning Authentication URLs and IP Addresses.

Prerequisites

  • Permissions Required: Integration > Data Designer
  • Verify you have administrative rights to install software on your computer.
  • Verify the computer has a supported 64 bit Java Environment by referring to Reference: Integration On-Prem Data Connector Technical Requirements. The preferred JDK is Azul Zulu.
  • Obtain the username and password for an Adaptive Planning or Workday user on your instance.

Steps

  1. Download the On-Prem Data Connector Manager installer.
  2. Run the installer.

Download the On-Prem Data Connector Installer

You must start the connector creation process to access the On-Prem Data Connector Manager download links.
  1. Select
    On-Prem Data Connector
     in the component library.
  2. Select
    Create New On-Prem Data Connector
    .
  3. Enter a name that lets you uniquely identify this On-Prem Data Connector.
  4. Select
    Create
     to view the download links.
Download the On-Prem Data Connector Installer
  1. Download the On-Prem Data Connector Manager Installer.
  2. Uninstall the preexisting On-Prem Data Connector Manager  if you already had one by:
    • Stopping the On-Prem Data Connector windows service.
    • Selecting
      Start > All Programs > On-Prem Data Connector > Uninstall
      . For connector versions 13.0.274 and older, select
      Start > All Programs > On-Prem Data Connector > Uninstall
      .
  3. Reboot your computer to clear old installation files.

Run the Installer

  1. Launch the downloaded installer.
  2. Continue through the setup wizard. Browse to the folder containing your Java Environment (JE) or your Java Runtime Environment (JRE). The
    JAVA_HOME
     for your system environment variable fills in by default.
  3. Select
    Next
     until you see the
    Features
     and
    Installation Folder
     tabs.
  4. Select
    Next
     and continue with the installation.
Complete the Installation
  1. Launch the On-Prem Data Connector Manager after installing.
  2. Login with your Adaptive Planning or Workday username and select
    Provision a New Connector
    .
  3. Select
    Tenant and Connector
    , then
    Provision.
  4. Wait a few minutes to refresh the On-Prem Data Connector page within Adaptive Planning so that
    Connector status
     updates to
    Running
    .
    You can only have 1 instance of the On-Prem Data Connector Manager on each computer.
