Upgrade the On-Prem Data Connector Manager

Upgrade the On-Prem Data Connector Manager

  • Security:
    Data Designer
     permissions.
  • Verify that you have administrative rights to install on the computer containing the On-Prem Data Connector Manager you need to upgrade.
  • Verify that the computer meets the minimum technical requirements. See Reference: On-Prem Data Connector Technical Requirements
  • If you installed Kettle on your local computer, make a note of its installation directory.
After installing the On-Prem Data Connector Service, you can upgrade to newer versions as they get released. New version downloads get posted in the On-Prem Data Connector page within Integration. Download and install a new version on the PC where the On-Prem Data Connector Manager runs. You can also develop custom connectors using a software development kit (SDK) and deploy them to the On-Prem Data Connector Service.

  1. Uninstall the pre-existing On-Prem Data Connector and reboot to clear old installation files.
    Stop the On-Prem Data Connector windows service.
    Select
    Start
    All Programs
    On-Prem Data Connector
    Uninstall
    .
    For On-Prem Data Connector versions 13.0.274 and older, select
    Start
    All Programs
    On-Prem Data Connector
    Uninstall
    .
  2. Download the latest On-Prem Data Connector Manager installer.
    Navigate in
    Adaptive Planning
     to
    Integration
    Design Integrations
     and select an existing Data Connector from the
    Component Library
    . Click
    Download Latest Connector
     in the
    Actions
     pane.
  3. Run the installer.
    The publisher name on the certificate for the On-Prem Data Connector updated in July 2020. When you run a new installation, Windows might prompt you about an unrecognized app if you haven't updated your connector since then. To continue with the installation:
    • Click
      More info
       on the prompt to display the app and publisher name.
    • Click
      Run anyway
       to accept the updated publisher and continue the installation.
  4. Continue through the setup wizard.
    The folder path for your Java Environment(JE)/Java Runtime Environment(JRE) should automatically populate. If it doesn't populate, browse to the folder containing your Java Environment (JE) or your Java Runtime Environment (JRE). The
    JAVA_HOME
     for your system environment variable fills in by default.
  5. Select
    Next
     until you see the
    Features
     and
    Installation Folder
     tabs.
  6. Launch the On-Prem Data Connector.
    Wait a few minutes to refresh the On-Prem Data Connector page within
    Adaptive Planning
     so that
    Connector Status
     updates to
    Running
    .
