Administering access control settings enables you to control what your users can view and perform in their assigned area. Learn about access control settings on Peakon.
Personal Dashboard
You can configure
Personal dashboard
settings in Individual
type groups, such as Employees
. This type of group controls what survey participants can view on their personal dashboards on Peakon. Although leaders are also part of an Individual
group, these settings relate to their experience as a survey participant.Setting | Description |

Access personal dashboard
| Enables you to access your personal dashboard after submitting a survey or logging into Peakon. When disabled, Peakon displays a limited summary of your survey instead.
This setting is a prerequisite for any other setting within the Personal dashboard settings group. |
Organization data
| Displays the company level scores for comparison to your own scores.
Prerequisite permission: Access personal dashboard . |
Direct manager's team scores
| Displays your team scores for comparison to your own scores.
Prerequisite permission: Access personal dashboard . |
Data for teams above direct manager
| The ability to display the scores of teams that are above your direct manager. Also displays focus areas and actions.

The

permissions provide employees with access to their team's scores across all question sets. This is something to consider if you've not provided managers with visibility to all question sets.Access Statistics
Setting | Description |

Access statistics
| Displays the main statistical information on the dashboard, such as driver scores and question scores. Enables managers to access their dashboards containing the survey results of the teams they manage.
This setting is a prerequisite for any other setting within the Access statistics settings group. |
Access comparison of segments
| Enables users to view the segment heatmap, to split their team into smaller segments and compare their scores. |
Access list of employees who received the survey
| Displays a list of users that Peakon surveyed in a particular dashboard context within the visibility window. When enabled, users can view this list by clicking on the employees surveyed link in the participation box. |
Access restricted attributes
| Controls whether restricted attributes or segments are accessible to users in this group. |
Access to strengths and focus areas
| Displays focus areas and focus segments to users on their dashboard and in the heat map. |
Manage focus areas
| Enables you to accept or dismiss recommended focus areas, and set your own focus areas. |
Share dashboard with employees
| Displays the share icon that enables managers to share their dashboard with their team. |
Make dashboard available to public
| Enables users with the Share dashboard with employees permission to extend the shareable access to users that aren't signed in. |
Attrition prediction
| Displays statistical predictions of employee attrition on the heatmap, to identify and address attrition risks. |
View test data
| Enables you to switch from real survey data to test survey data through the settings in the context switcher. |
Impact
| Displays theImpact page within the Analysis section, if configured by the administrator. |
Curated Insights
| Ability to see the Curated Insights tab within the Insights section. Curated Insights is ideal for senior leaders who need an overview of all survey results in a single view. |
Employees
Setting | Description |
|---|---|
View employees
| Displays employee records in the Employees area, and provides the option to resend the survey to an individual employee. Peakon displays employee records according to the context that you’re currently viewing.
This setting is a prerequisite for any other setting within the Employees settings. |
View restricted attributes
| Controls whether you’re able to view restricted attribute values on the employee records. This permission enables users to add people from restricted segments. |
Update employees
| Enables you to add or update employee records, within your assigned area. We recommend this setting for local administrators, who maintain the local employee records. |
Backdate employee data
| Enables backdating of data to make retroactive segment changes when updating employee records fields. |
Administer employee records
| Enables you to add, edit, or delete employee records within the segments you manage. Switching context to another segment updates the employee list accordingly. |
Segment management access
| Enables you to grant other leaders access to segments that you manage. This setting is suited to local administrators who administer employee records and grant managers access to specific segments. |
Kiosk codes
| Displays kiosk codes to view and download to distribute in kiosk surveys. We recommend this setting for local administrators that maintain employee records on Peakon. |

| Displays actions that you or other leaders have created for the Engagement question set, when viewing the relevant dashboards.
This setting is a prerequisite for any other setting within the Actions settings. |
Manage actions
| Enables you to create, edit, and archive actions on any dashboard you have access to, for the Engagement question set. |
Comments
Setting | Description |

Access driver comments
| Enables you to view, filter by, and export driver question comments. Where applicable, Peakon can also display highlighted comments and topics. |
Access comments in real-time
| When enabled, Peakon displays comments as soon as employees submit their surveys. When disabled, members of this access control group can only view new comments after the survey round ends. |
Acknowledge driver comments
| Enables you to acknowledge driver question comments, and see how many times other leaders acknowledged a comment. |
Access value comments
| Enables you to view, filter by, and export Values question comments, where relevant. |
Acknowledge value comments
| Enables you to acknowledge Values question comments, and see how many times other leaders acknowledged a comment. |
Access open-ended comments
| Enables you to view, filter by, and export open-ended question comments. |
Acknowledge open-ended comments
| Enables you to acknowledge open-ended question comments, and to see how many times leaders acknowledged the comments. |
Access conversations
| Enables you to respond to comments and engage in dialogue with the employee, while their identity remains protected. It also enables you to participate in internal notes tagging other leaders, and to view existing conversations on the comments in your managed view. |
Review detected sensitive comments in a separate view
| Flags comments as sensitive and displays sensitive comments in a separate tab. When disabled, you can still view those comments, however, Peakon won't flag the comment as sensitive in your view. |
Mark sensitive comments
| Enables you to mark and unmark comments as sensitive. We recommend enabling this setting alongside the View sensitive comments setting, because it enables a manager to resolve false positive detections. |
View comment managers
| Displays the hierarchy of managers associated with the comment, starting from the direct manager. This list displays managers derived from employee type attributes.
The list might not always be fully complete, with some managers not appearing for confidentiality reasons. Example: A manager only has 1 direct report, or the segment of the manager conflicts with another segment within that context. |
View comments by segment
| Provides the option to filter comments by specific segments. |
Semantic Search
| Adds the Semantic Search tab, enabling you to search for comments by their contextual meaning, rather than just keywords. This permission displays after you opt in to Semantic Search data processing in
After opting in to Semantic Search, members of the Administrators and Senior Leaders access control groups (if they can access comments) can see the Semantic Search tab immediately. |

Managed employees
will only have these settings available:- Manage schedules.
- Manage questions.
- Delete comments.
- View manager usage metrics.
- Manage branding.

Manage schedules

| Ability to create custom questions targeted to the context that you’re currently viewing. This setting doesn’t enable you to edit existing Company level questions if you aren’t viewing the Company level dashboard. |
Delete comments
| Ability to delete comments. |
Manage company values
| Ability to administer and edit the Values questions that Peakon measures. |
Administer sensitive keywords
| Ability to enable or disable the monitoring of sensitive comments and to manage the monitored keywords. |
View manager usage metrics
| Displays manager usage metrics for the views that you manage. |
View impact metrics
| View-only access to the Impact page within the Administration section. |
Administer Impact metrics
| Enables you to import, create, and manage impact metrics for your leaders to use. Example: Import your organization's customer satisfaction scores.

Notifications

| Sends a low participation summary email during the round if participation is low for any of your managed views. |

This setting is only available for All employees type groups. |
