Reference: Attribute Types

Selecting the right type of attributes is dependent on how you would like to segment your survey results. Peakon provides 5 different types of attributes:

Option
Set up lists with multiple fixed values. Example: If you have a Country attribute with the segment France, any employee with Country set to France is part of the France segment.

Date
Peakon presents segments for date type attributes as time ranges. Example: 5 - 10 years (Hire date). You can configure the date ranges in the settings of the attribute.
Peakon detects the input on a date-type attribute on an employee record, and places that employee's survey responses in the respective date range segment. Example: If you set an employee's start date to 01/01/2016, this employee is part of the
5 - 10 years (Hire date)
 segment.

Employee
Peakon detects employees reporting lines and creates segments.
Example: A manager has 3 employees reporting to them. Peakon creates a
[Manager name] - All Reports
 segment, if the 3 employees have the
Manager
 field set to this manager on their employee record. If the 3 direct reports also manage employees, the manager gets an
All reports
 segment and a
Direct reports
 segment.

Number
Peakon presents segments for this number type attribute as number ranges. Example:
50,000 - 100,000 (Salary range)
. You can configure the number ranges in the settings of the attribute.
Peakon detects the input on a number-type attribute on an employee record, and places that employee's survey responses in the respective number range segment. Example: If you set an employee's salary value at 54,000, this employee is part of the
50,000 - 100,000 (Salary range)
 segment.

Combination
Create intersecting attributes by combining 2 existing option type attributes. Peakon automatically creates and maintains the segments based on information in the original 2 segments.
Peakon treats segments created by this attribute as regular segments, that you can use for comparison and set as strengths or focus areas.
It's only possible to combine 2 option attributes.
