Create a New Open-Ended Question

You can create an open-ended question for ad hoc topics that don't require long-term analysis. Example: Feedback on a company off-site.
Workday Peakon is transitioning to a Flexible Listening Question model which provides greater simplicity and flexibility to our question model through a number of enhancements.
For customers who had their Workday Peakon production instances created from the 31st March 2026 onwards, you will use the flexible listening question model unless you opted out.
For customers who had their Workday Peakon production instance created before the 31st March 2026, you will continue to use the existing Workday Peakon Question model until we make it possible for you to upgrade to the flexible listening question model in the 26R2 and 27R1 release cycles.

  3. Make sure that your context selection is correct. If you're in a segment context, the new question will use that segment as the overall target.
  4. Add the question title.
    5. This functionality is currently only available for customers using the flexible listening question model.
  5. Add the new question.
  6. Set question frequency.
  7. (Optional) Include the %s placeholder where the question should use the company name or a branded segment name.
  8. (Optional) Add any relevant translations. Without a translation in an available survey language, the question will display in the original language in surveys where a translation is missing.
  9. (Optional) Set target segments to the groups of employees that should receive this question.
If you make changes to questions during a live round, the changes will reflect immediately for employees who didn't yet answer the survey.
The new question is available immediately after you toggle it active. If you add active questions during a live round, employees that already opened the survey without completing it might still see the old version due to browser cache.
