Add Benchmark for ANCC Magnet Nursing Excellence Question Set

  • Security:
    Access comparison of segments
     permission.
  • Setup: You must have already conducted a survey using the ANCC Magnet question set.
Use the Magnet benchmark template to compare your survey results against American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet standards. Depending on your setup, you can populate the template using the ANCC Magnet question set or custom questions.
The Magnet benchmark template provides external context for nursing excellence by comparing your internal survey data to specific industry benchmarks. To extract data in a compatible format, you must ensure your dashboard settings and heat map filters align with the template requirements.
    Steps: Using the ANCC Magnet Question Set
  2. Access
    Administration
    Data Settings
    .
  3. In the
    Dashboard
     tab, verify that
    Score aggregation for drivers
     is set to
    Aggregate
    .
    4. If it is set to
    Separate
    , change it to
    Aggregate
     temporarily to extract the data in the correct format. You can revert to
    Separate
     after the export.
  4. Go to
    Analysis
    Heat Map
    .
  5. Complete the task:
    6. Filter Type
    Action
    Question set
    Select the
    ANCC Magnet Nursing Excellence
     question set.
    View
    Select
    Expand all
     to display all driver questions.
    Selected segments
    Select segments that reflect your unit or ambulatory care settings.
    Score mode
    Ensure scores display in
    Average
     mode.
  6. Click
    Export
     to export the heat map to Excel.
  7. Clear the
    Include hierarchies
     check box during the export.
  8. Open the Magnet benchmark template and select the desired benchmark for comparison.
  9. Copy all data from the heat map export and paste it into the
    Heat Map Export
     tab of the Magnet benchmark template.

    Steps: Using Custom Magnet Questions
    2. This file is different from the template used for the standard question set.
  2. Access
    Administration
    Data Settings
    .
  3. In the
    Dashboard
     tab, verify that
    Score aggregation
     for drivers is set to
    Aggregate
    .
  4. Go to
    Analysis
    Heat Map
  5. Complete the task:
    6. Filter Type
    Action
    Question set
    Select the
    Company Custom Questions
    .
    View
    Select
    Expand all
     to display all driver questions.
    Selected segments
    Select segments that reflect your unit or ambulatory care settings.
    Score mode
    Ensure scores display in
    Average
     mode.
  6. Click
    Export
     to export the heat map to Excel and clear the
    Include hierarchies
     check box.
  7. On the heat map export file, delete any columns for non-Magnet questions.
  8. Open the Magnet benchmark template and select the desired benchmark.
  9. Copy all data from the heat map export and paste it into the
    Heat Map Export
     tab of the Magnet benchmark template.
