Concept: Question Versions
For tenants using the Flexible Listening question model, Workday Peakon Employee Voice preserves previous wording as earlier versions when updating standard survey questions. This ensures historical survey data remains comparable even when question text changes.
Background
A question version refers to the specific wording of a standard question used in surveys. Workday Peakon Employee Voice uses versions to preserve historical data even when question text is updated. In the flexible listening model, each version uses a label to indicate its status:
- Active: The version currently used in live survey rounds.
- Inactive: A version that is no longer sent to employees.
Workday Peakon Employee Voice always surfaces the active version with the highest version number as the most relevant text. If no active version exists, the system displays the most recent overall version.
Manual updates to a standard question, such as localization overrides or targeting adjustments, count as modifications to an existing version rather than the creation of a new version.
Viewing Question Versions
Use these areas to view and track different question versions:
Page | Description |
|---|---|
Question Detail | Displays the most relevant question version in the header. If multiple versions exist for the selected context, they appear in the Question Versions section in this order:
Versions without score data are hidden. A dash displays if a version does not meet the response visibility threshold. |
All Scores | Displays the full text of the most relevant version when you expand a driver. The separate Questions tab is removed to prevent duplicate information. |
Heat Map | Displays the Active or Inactive status for each question when you expand columns. Only versions containing data within your current context are listed. |
