FAQ: Can I Control the Number of Survey Questions?

FAQ: Can I Control the Number of Survey Questions?

When configuring your survey, the
Frequency
tab in your survey schedule displays the average number of questions that each employee will receive in the survey.

Automated Frequency

Surveys on an automated frequency (Example: quarterly) distribute questions from the active questions and flexibly adapt the distribution to each employee's circumstances.
You can't control the exact number of questions, however you’ll know the average number of questions based on the way you configure question frequencies.
These factors can influence the number of questions each individual employee receives:
  • Survey round: More questions will be included in an employee's first survey to gather detailed initial feedback. Subsequent surveys will be shorter.
  • Question targeting: Whether the question sets are enabled and taregted at the segment that the employee is part of.
  • Extreme scores: Follow-up questions will be triggered if an employee provides very high or low scores to gain deeper insights.
  • Skipped rounds: Unanswered questions from previous surveys will be included in the employee's next survey.

Manual Frequency

Manual frequency surveys ask all active questions to all employees in the same survey round, therefore you control the number of questions by design.
Note that if you're using question targeting to include or exclude certain segments, the number of questions for employees from those segments will differ.
