FAQ: Can I Control Which Questions Are in Each Survey?

It's possible to control which questions you want to ask in each survey round by activating or deactivating questions.
You can do this for individual questions in the
Question Library
section in the
Administration
configuration area, and for entire question sets on the
Frequency
tab of each survey schedule.

Manual Surveys

When using the Manual survey frequency mode, Peakon asks all active questions in the next survey round.
To control which questions appear in manual surveys:
  • In the
    Question Library
    section in the
    Administration
configuration area, only activate the questions you want to ask. Note that his action is effective immediately and will affect other live survey rounds. Use question targeting as a workaround, if needed.
  • On the
    Frequency
tab of your survey schedule, only activate the question sets that contain the questions you want to ask.

Automatic Surveys

When using the automated survey mode (Example: Monthly), Peakon distributes questions to employees from the pool of active questions. See Concept: Question Rotation Algorithm for more information on how Peakon distributes questions.
To control which questions appear in automatic surveys:
  • In the
    Question Library
    section in the
    Administration
configuration area, only activate the questions you want to ask. Note that his action is effective immediately and will affect other live survey rounds. Use question targeting as a workaround, if needed.
  • On the
    Frequency
tab of your survey schedule, only activate the question sets that contain the questions you want to ask.
  • Set all question sets under the Frequency tab to
    Always
, to ensure that the survey will ask all active questions from enabled question sets in the next survey round.

Limitations

  • Prepare for the next round only when the previous round has hard closed. Activating or deactivating questions and question sets during a live round (also in the soft close period) will be effective immediately.
  • Because Peakon isn't intended for this type survey approach, it's not possible to check the questions you asked in historical rounds within the platform. This is because when using the automated algorithm, all questions are asked in every round, but not to all employees at the same time. As a workaround, you can export the activated questions from each question set in
    Administration
    Question Library
during each round, to keep a record of this manually. Additionally, date stamps on comments can help inform you of the survey round the question was part of.
  • If you run multiple survey schedules at the same time, use question targeting instead of deactivating questions entirely.
