Concept: BambooHR Integration

You can set up the BambooHR integration to sync your employee data with Peakon automatically. Peakon retrieves employee data from BambooHR and maps it to the corresponding fields in Peakon. For consistency, Workday recommends using the same naming convention for employee fields in both systems.

Peakon syncs changes from BambooHR at a distributed time across the hour. The first full sync runs during the initial setup. You can manually trigger a full sync by selecting

Synchronize now

from the integration page in Peakon. The time for a full sync is based on the size of the company data.

The Peakon integration page displays error messages from the sync. Identify the specific error and resolve it manually before running a manual sync, as a full sync doesn't always fix the issue.

Once set up and after completing a full sync, the incremental sync runs multiple times throughout the hour. An information card on the integration page displays the scheduled time for the next sync. If a sync is skipped, the system waits until the next scheduled window to retry, rather than attempting to sync immediately.

If surveying exited employees, ensure you include personal email addresses in the sync.

When you add employee records in BambooHR with future hire dates, Peakon creates the records but won't send surveys until the hire date. If you assign an exit date in BambooHR, Peakon automatically adds the

Separation Date

and

Separation Reason

fields. After the separation date, Peakon stops sending surveys to the employee. Since these fields are standard attributes, you don’t need to create custom fields in BambooHR.

Restricted employee attributes in Peakon won’t sync with BambooHR. You can update these attributes manually in Peakon or remove the attribute restriction.
