Ask AI - Unified Search and Enhanced Intelligence

With this release, Contract Management and Document Intelligence introduces a series of improvements in Ask AI, such as better source citations, enhanced accuracy, and the ability to reference data contained in custom fields.
Ask AI is a conversational AI tool that enables you to ask questions in natural language and receive a summary answer based on information across all your documents, a specific subset, or a single document.
Business Benefits
These enhancements help streamline the contract review and information gathering processes. By acting as a single conversational interface, Ask AI significantly reduces the need for manual, in-depth search. This allows you to get answers, not just a table of search results, leading to faster, more reliable, and verifiable insights.
Changes
The primary changes are focused on improving the core AI model and enhancing the user experience:
  • Performance
: By enhancing the AI model, Workday offers accuracy improvements and better source citation quality.
  • Data field references
: For questions related to a single document, Ask AI can now reference data from custom data fields. By clicking the source button, users can automatically access the field’s metadata.
  • Status indicators while generating answers
: Workday replaces generic progress indicators with detailed and transparent information into the process followed by Ask AI while generating an answer and the sources being searched.
Considerations
:
  • If you’re looking to find answers across multiple documents, Ask AI can provide a list of representative documents. For an exhaustive list, continue to use Search. See Concept: Search
  • Ask AI doesn’t support questions about Workflow ticket data, intake forms, or comments in a Workflow document context. Additionally, it doesn’t support keyword search and/or boolean operators, counting, aggregation, or answering questions that require legal advice, factual information outside of documents, proprietary information, or technical requests.

Custom AI Model Library

Contract Intelligence introduces a Custom AI Model Library, a searchable, categorized collection of pre-configured Custom AI models that you can publish and use immediately to extract data from documents.
Business Benefits
The Custom AI Model Library saves you time and effort by eliminating the need to manually build your own data fields. This new feature allows you to select, review, and publish models tailored to specific contract types and industries.
The models are pre-trained and ready to deploy, enabling you to immediately gain insights and flag risks earlier.
Changes
The Custom AI Model Library provides access to more than 120 custom models organized into categories based on industries and contract types, such as employment agreements, billing & invoicing, and healthcare.
The library enables you to:
  • Search models by name and filter by status.
  • Define the scope of the model.
  • Save the model as a draft to test it before publishing, or publish the model directly.
Once you publish the model, Contract Intelligence populates the field name, field type, scope and model configuration. You can edit the model to add instructions; however, these instructions are added to the existing library model instructions and don’t replace or overwrite them.
What's Coming Next
We will continue to expand the models and categories offered in future releases.

What Happens If I Do Nothing?
While you can still browse the Custom AI Model Library, if you don’t select a pre-configured model, you’ll need to continue manually building your custom models.
