We now hide the Retirement Date for release notes that have a status of No Longer Retiring. We also hide the Retirement Date value in the downloaded search results.

New Product Area Search Filters (Delivery Date: 2026/03/24)

We’ve added a number of new and updated product area search filters to facilitate your search on doc.workday.com and Community. These product areas support new Financial Management and HCM agents, as well as Sana and Workday Paradox AI agents and platform extensions.

Release Center: Publication Schedule (Week of March 23)

Workday celebrates a company-wide holiday on March 27. We'll adjust the release notes publishing schedule for the week beginning March 23, 2026:

  • Release Center: Wednesday, March 25, as usual, and Thursday, March 26. There won't be a publication on Friday, March 27.
  • What's New in Workday report: Friday, March 27, as usual.

New Product Area Search Filters (Delivery Date: 2026/03/24)

We’ve added a number of new and updated product area search filters on which you can search in the Release Center and Community. These product areas support new Financial Management and HCM agents, as well as Sana and Workday Paradox AI agents and platform extensions.

Languages Search Facet (Delivery Date: 2026/02/24)

We add the Languages search facet so that you can filter release notes by the supported languages of a feature.

Update! Workday Product Languages Section in Release Notes (Delivery Date: 2026/02/10)

Starting on 2026/01/13, we include a list of Languages in the Details section that the product feature is translated into. You can find full details about translated content by product line in the Languages page in Workday Community.

Because languages information is automatically generated, as of 2026/2/10, we now add a generic disclaimer to each release note:

Note: This feature can support different languages than the ones listed here.

New Product Area Search Filters (Delivery Date: 2026/01/13)

We added 2 new product area search filters on which you can search in the Release Center and Workday Community. We’ve added Payroll for Ireland (Payroll Product Line) and Workday Data Cloud (Platform and Product Extensions Product Line) to support these new product areas. Note: Workday Data Cloud displays in the Release Center until we publish feature release notes for this product area.

2025 Previous Posts

Known Issue: Release Notes Publication for 2025-12-03

Due to unexpected technical issues, we were unable to provide a release notes publication on Wednesday, December 3 at our regularly scheduled time. We plan to provide a replacement publication on Thursday, December 4, by noon, and our regularly scheduled publication on Friday, December 5.

Also, you might receive notifications for Wednesday’s release notes publication that include links to invalid pages. Publication issues currently impact these links. We’re working to address these issues, and anticipate all notification links working correctly after our Friday, December 5 publication.

Improved Search Capabilities (Delivery Date: 2025-11-18)

You can now select as many search facets as needed within a multiselect search filter, like Product Area. This improvement gives you more flexibility as you review release notes.

2025 Holiday Publication Schedule for Release Center

During these US holidays, we publish the release notes to the Release Center and the What's New in Workday report on a slightly different schedule.

  • Thanksgiving:
    • To both the Release Center and the What's New in Workday report on Wednesday, November 26.
    • No publications to either source on that Friday, November 28.
  • Christmas:
    • No publication to either source on Wednesday, December 24.
    • To both the Release Center and the What's New in Workday report on Friday, December 26.
  • Week of New Year's Day:  No impact to the standard publication schedule of Wednesday and Friday.

Simplified Feedback for AI-Generated Answers (Delivery Date: 2025-11-04)

We've removed the answer evaluation questions and URL request from the feedback form for AI-generated answers on the Workday Documentation site. When you give feedback, you now fill in your answer in a single text box.

Playback Speed for Release Note Videos (Delivery Date: 2025-11-04)

You can now adjust the playback speed for all videos in the Release Center with these speeds: 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, and 2x.

New Multi-Select Product Filters for Workday Documentation! (Delivery Date: 2025-09-09)

We now deliver multiselect functionality for product facets when filtering release notes and other Workday Documentation. You can now filter search results by one or more Product Line and further refine results by selecting multiple Product Areas within a product line. Learn more here.

Update Your Subscriptions to Release Notes (Delivery Date: 2025-09-09)

We now use multiple levels of Product tags to better categorize features for you. If the product you're filtering on has 2 levels of tags, select the 2nd level.

What do I need to do? When using Add Subscription in Workday Community, select 1 or more 2nd level Product tags. Example: Instead of selecting Human Capital Management, select Benefits and Compensation.

Publication Schedule Updates for Release Center (Delivery Date: 2025-08-26)

Workday celebrates the U.S. Labor Day holiday and has an altered release note publishing schedule for the week of August 25, 2025:

  • Release Notes will be published to the Release Center on Wednesday, August 27 and Thursday, August 28, and won't have a publication on Friday, August 29.
  • What's New in Workday report will be published to your tenant on Friday, August 29 as usual.

New Fields Added to the Release Notes Excel Download (Delivery Date: 2025-08-12)

We’ve heard you! We now add new fields for Change Logs and Retirement Status to the release notes download for Excel.

You can now see that each field for all change logs attached to a release note, beginning with Column AB, in your Excel download. Each change log field from the Release Center now has its own column, which enables you to filter on each of these fields. We order the columns from newest to oldest.

With the new Retirement Status field, you can now filter release notes by their status in the retirement process.

Feature Delivery Update Improvements (Delivery Date: 2025-08-06)

We’re excited to give you advance notice of an important enhancement coming to release notes communications for the 25R2 release and onward. On Aug 6, we’ll deliver a new Delivery Date option on the Content Change Type (CCT) search facet. This new CCT enables us to notify you of release notes that have updates to their Preview or Production dates. When we begin tagging release notes with this CCT, you see:

  • Updated filtering options on the Release Center to pinpoint these changes during the Feature Release, and after.
  • [Delivery Updated] appended to titles in the Search results list for easy identification.
  • A Change Log entry detailing what changes to the delivery date occurred.

With the Delivery Updates CCT, we can surface important delivery date changes to you directly in the release notes instead of in a separate article. As a result, we'll no longer publish the Feature Delivery Update Articles on Workday Community for this and future releases.

Updated - What’s New in Workday Report Synchronization (Delivery Date: 2025-07-12)

  • Production: On August 9 and forward, Release Center feature updates will be in sync with the What’s New in Workday report in your Production tenants.

For more timely updates and changes to this delivery, subscribe to this release note in the Release Center related to this change.

The Workday Documentation site at doc.workday.com got a fresh, new look on the evening of July 7, PST.

There should be no impact to any other existing links or browser bookmarks you might have. If you do have issues, contact us at doc.feedback@workday.com.

Changed: See 2025-07-12 Updated- What's New in Workday Report Synchronization

Starting July 11, 2025, Workday delivers the What's New in Workday report in your Preview tenants on the same week as the Release Center, for off-cycle releases. This change ensures that Adoption Planning accesses the most up-to-date information. You can see the full details of this change in the Ongoing What's New in Workday report Synchronization for Adoption Planning feature release note, published to the Release Center on July 9.

Holiday Publication Schedule Updates for Release Center (2025-06-17)

Workday celebrates these public holidays and has an altered schedule for the affected weeks:

  • Week of June 16 2025 - Juneteenth (US): Wednesday publication only.
  • Week of June 30 - 4 of July (US): Wednesday and Thursday publication only.

Retirement Status Field (Delivery Date: 2025-05-06)

We add the Retirement Status field to the Delivery Details section of the Retirement release notes in the Release Center. We provide 3 status values that indicate where the feature is in the retirement workflow:

  • In Progress
  • Fully Retired
  • No Longer Retiring

This field only displays on Retirement release notes. It will begin to display on new or updated release notes by the Friday of the week of May 6, 2025.

Also, we provide a search filter for the Retirement Status field. We plan to add this new field to the Excel download file in a future update.

Note: You might notice an increase in Retirement release notes in the next few weeks as we republish existing release notes to use the new field.

Increased Release Note Download Limit and Search Results Fix (Delivery Date: 2025-04-08)

  • We heard you! With this update, you can now download up to 3000 release notes to an XLS file.
  • We fixed the issue when logging into Workday Community. Just click a filtered link to the Release Notes search page, and can’t see any search results.

Important Update: What's New in Workday Report (Delivery Date: 2025-03-18)

We're again updating the What’s New in Workday report 1 week after the delivery of the 2025R1 Production Feature release notes in the Release Center. The 1-week delay enables us to:

  • Provide the most accurate and high-quality content in the What’s New in Workday Report.
  • Explore future enhancements to the What's New report, such as direct links to the related Release Center items.
  • Ensure that we continue to maintain parity between the Release Center and What’s New in Workday report.

With the delay, there's no update to the What’s New in Workday report for the 2025-03-28 service update.

Sharing Search Filter URLs  (Delivery Date: 2025-03-11)

Sharing Search Filter URLs: Workday improves your ability to share URLs for filtered searches in both the Release Center and for Workday Guides. With this update, you can now copy a search filter URL to another application, such as Excel or Slack and retain the filters. Previously, your search filter selections disappeared after copying the URL to other applications.

Note: This improvement requires you to resave your filtered searches in the Release Center and Workday Guides on or after 3/11/25, as we mentioned in the 3/3/25 update.

Example:

  • Before the Update: You search for all release notes with the Release Note Type of Feature and the Setup Effort of Automatically Available. You copy the URL of the search results to Slack to share with your colleague. Your colleague clicks the link and sees a list of all release notes. The filters have been lost.
  • After the Update: When you share the URL with the search filters, your colleague clicks the link and sees only Feature release notes with a Setup Effort of Automatically Available, as intended.

Guidance for Ask a Question in Release Notes (Delivery Date: 2025-02-11)

  • Ask a Question: We now provide guidance for asking questions or providing feedback about release notes or the related features.
  • VNDLY Release Notes in the What’s New in Workday Report: Due to technical challenges, we're unable to align the delivery of VNDLY feature release notes to the What’s New in Workday report and the Release Center. During the release preparation window only, we publish the VNDLY feature release notes in the What’s New in Workday 1 week later than in the Release Center.

Release Center and What's New in Workday Report (Delivery Date: 2025-02-03)

For the What's New Report publication on Jan 31, we found these items that don't correlate with the Release Center's Jan 29 publication:

  • 3 items are available but might have been incorrectly categorized as 2024R2 features: FINAC-15689, FINAC-6182, and UIPLATFORM-11119. We're investigating further and update the release number as needed. This fix is reflected in Friday’s What’s New in Workday report update.
  • 1 item included a Jira key of HRCORE-94182 in the What's New report, but has an incorrect Jira key in the Release Center. We fix this one in this week's Wednesday publication to the Release Center.
  • 5 features delivered to Preview tenants early and off-cycle, on Jan 31, 2025: ANABIRUNTIME-1010, CXS-2713, FINCLS-37790, STUREG-9621, and STUREG-9751. They follow expected behavior (see the 2024-09-27 Important Update: What's New in Workday report in this article)?
These features were published 1 week late because they fell into our regular off-cycle feature delivery cadence for the What’s New in Workday report. These 5 items are published to the What’s New report with this week's service update. Note: This 1-week gap in delivery for off-cycle features will no longer be necessary after this week as a result of this new enhancement by the Adoption team.
