Steps: Set Up Instructional Locations

Set up locations for course instruction and scheduled assessments. To assign appropriate locations to course sections, activity offerings, and scheduled assessments:
  • Create a set of location attributes.
  • Associate instructional locations with 1 or more attributes.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Location Attributes
     task.
    1. Enter a
      Location Attribute Name
      , such as Piano, SMART Board, ADA-compliant, or Computers.
    2. Select
      Instructional
       from the
      Location Usage
       prompt.
    Security:
    Set Up: Organization
     domain in the Organizations and Roles functional area.
You can:
  • Select locations with appropriate attributes from the
    Location
     prompt when you create or edit:
    • A course section.
    • A practical learning offering.
    • An orientation offering.
    • A scheduled assessment.
  • Use the
    Find Available Instructional Locations
     report (secured to the
    Manage: Section Data
     domain) to:
    • Find available locations for a course section based on its meeting pattern and start date.
    • Assign a location to the course section.
To view details about the instructional locations at your institution, use the
Find Instructional Locations
 report (secured to the
Manage: Curriculum Management
 domain).
