Steps: Set Up Program Declarations
You can configure programs of study to require a separate declaration process for
students to be accepted into them. By having a separate declaration process, you can
keep students' current program of study records open for ongoing transactions. This
process enables you to handle admissions of your continuing students into highly
competitive programs more efficiently.
Students can declare multiple programs simultaneously, complete questionnaires and
submit document, and choose from multiple acceptances. You can review ant take mass
actions on program declarations.
- Select theRequires Declarationcheck box. The check box only displays for program of study types in these categories:
- Formalized Joint Program
- Official Program
- Edit Business Processes.To enable students to declare programs of study, configure theDeclare Program of Study Eventbusiness process and security policy in the Student Records functional area. This business process completes automatically.
- Edit Domain Security Policies.Configure the security policies for theManage: Program of Study Declarationsdomain in the Student Records functional area.
- (Optional) Access theMaintain Program Declaration Statusestask.Select an institution to configure. Override the Workday-delivered status labels to custom labels that match your terminology and policies.Security:Manage: Set Up Academic Policiesdomain in the Student Records functional area.
- (Optional) Use date controls to set up deadlines for students to declare programs.
Students can submit declarations using the
Declare Programs of
Study
task.When students declare programs, you can use the:
- Review Program of Study Declarationtask to review the student's declaration and update the declaration status, such asAcceptedorDenied.
- Mass Update Program Declaration Statuses for Studentsreport to find program declarations by students and mass update their statuses.
- View Student Program of Study Declarationreport to view details of the program declarations to which you have access.
When you accept program declarations, students can add or change into the declared
programs of study on these tasks:
- Add Program of Study
- Change Program of Study
When students have at least 1 program declaration on their academic record, Workday
displays a
Program Declarations
report on
Academics
profile group of the student profile. This
enables you and your students to view details of their program declarations.To report on program declarations, create custom reports using the
Student
Program of Study Declarations
report data source and report fields
on these business objects:- Academic Record
