Steps: Set Up Grade Lapse Processing

Steps: Set Up Grade Lapse Processing

Set up student grading.
Set up the grade lapse process to convert grades you configure as
Incomplete
on the grading scheme to a lapsed grade of your choice. You can mass lapse grades based on your institutional practices, saving you time and effort.
  1. Configure the
    Mass Lapse Student Grades Event
business process and security policy in the Student Records functional area.
  2. Identify the grades to lapse and the lapsed grade.
    1. Select
      Student Grading Scheme
      Edit
from the related actions menu of the grading scheme.
      Security:
      Set Up: Grading and GPA
domain in the Student Records functional area.
    2. Assign the
      Grade Category Type
      of
      Incomplete
to 1 or more grade elements on the grading scheme.
Workday returns students with these grades on the
      Find Student Grades to Lapse
report that you use to lapse grades.
    3. Assign the
      Grade Category Type
      of
      Lapsed Grade
to 1 grade element on the grading scheme.
Workday lapses the Incomplete grade into this grade.
  • To mass lapse grades, access the
    Find Student Grades to Lapse
    report (secured to the
    Manage: Final Grades
    domain).
  • After you lapse grades, Workday displays the lapsed grade on the
    Academic History
report of the Academics profile group of the student profile.
Assign the
Grade Category Type
of:
  • Incomplete
    to the
    I
grade element on the grading scheme.
  • Lapsed Grade
    to the
    F
grade element on the grading scheme.
When you run the
Find Student Grades to Lapse
report, Workday finds students with an
I
grade. When you lapse student grades, Workday lapses the
I
grade to an
F
for the students you select.
