Example: Assign Application Pools Based on Applicant Scores
This example illustrates how to assign application pools based on applicant scores.
Alma Mater University (AMU) rates an undergraduate applicant's likelihood for
admission based on the grade point average (GPA) and SAT total on their application.
Workday uses the GPA and SAT total to calculate an applicant score that maps to the
rating based on an applicant score scale.
GPA and SAT Total | Applicant Score | Rating |
|---|---|---|
GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 AND SAT total greater than or
equal to 1280. | 10 | Presumptive Admit |
GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 AND SAT total less than
1280. OR GPA less than 3.0 AND SAT total greater than or
equal to 1280. | 5 | Committee Review |
GPA less than 3.0 AND SAT total less than 1280. | 3 | Presumptive Deny |
AMU uses applicant scores to assign applications to application pools for further
processing, such as mass rendering decisions for the entire application pool at
once. If an application is missing a GPA or SAT total, AMU flags it for
investigation by assigning it to a separate application pool.
Application Pool | Admissions Counselor |
|---|---|
Presumptive Admit | Alonzo Brown |
Committee Review | Rebecca LaChance |
Presumptive Deny | Nathan Sundberg |

When an application is ready for calculations, Workday calculates an applicant score
and assigns it to an application pool based on the score. You can then use the
application pool for further processing.

- Review the applications in theCheck Application Data or Calculationapplication pool for missing GPAs or SAT totals, or for other calculation errors.
