Steps: Render Decisions for Selective Admissions

  • Applications for selective admission have gone through the
    Admissions Evaluation Event
     business process.
  • Security:
    Manage: Student Application Review
     domain in the Admissions functional area.
When you finish evaluating student applications, you can:
  • Render decisions of admit or deny.
  • Finalize the decisions internally.
  • Publish the decisions and make them available to applicants.
  1. To render decisions for:
    • A single application, access the
      Student Application Decisions Event
       task in
      My Tasks
       and click
      Submit
      .
      Configure the
      Student Application Decision Event
       business process and security policy in the Admissions functional area.
    • Multiple applications at once, access the
      Find Student Prospects
       report and click
      Mass Render Decision
      . You can do this whether they have outstanding requirements or assessments, or not. All applications must be for the same academic unit and level.
      Configure the
      Mass Student Application Decision Update Event
       business process and security policy in the Admissions functional area.
    Workday sets the decision status to
    Confidential - For Internal Use Only
    .
  2. Finalize the decision for all applications that have a decision rendered but not published:
    1. Access the
      View Application Grouping
       report.
    2. From the related actions menu of the grouping, select
      Application Grouping
      Finalize
      .
      This related action only displays after the decision status is set to
      Confidential - For Internal Use Only
      . 
      Security:
      Manage: Application Groupings
       domain in the Admissions functional area.
    3. Select the applications that you want to finalize and click
      Finalize
      .
  3. Access the
    Publish Application Grouping Decisions
     task in
    My Tasks
     and publish the decisions.
    Workday sets the decision status for finalized applications to
    Publicly Available
    .
    Configure the
    Publish Application Grouping Event
     business process and security policy in the Admissions functional area.
When you publish the decisions, Workday makes them available to applicants and requests a response from applicants who receive an offer of admission.
You can configure the
Student Application Change Decision Event
 business process to change a published admissions decision.
