Steps: Change Decision Details When Rendering Decisions

Steps: Change Decision Details When Rendering Decisions

You can admit applicants to campuses or programs of study that they didn't originally apply to. Decision policies enable you to use eligibility criteria to change the campus or program of study of applications automatically when you render decisions.
Examples:
  • Change the program of study for admitted first-year applicants who are applying to Engineering with less than 25 on the ACT to Pre-Engineering.
  • Change the campus for admitted transfer applicants with a grade point average (GPA) of less than 2.5 to Regional.
  1. Edit Business Processes.
    Business Process
    Description
    Student Application Decision Policy Event
Add the Evaluate Campus Location Decision Policy service step, the Evaluate Program of Study Decision Policy service step, or both.
On the Reconcile Decision Details step, assign a security group to resolve situations where the policy result fails validation rules. Example: A program of study that isn’t available as of the anticipated start date. You can view the full entry condition for the Reconcile Decision Details step on the business process security policy.
    Student Application Decision Event
Add the Evaluate Decision Policies action step. Workday recommends that you configure the
    Student Application Decision Policy Event
business process before adding the Evaluate Decision Policies step to the
    Student Application Decision Event
    business process.
  2. To identify applications to change decision details for, create student eligibility rules or student condition rules.
    • When creating student condition rules, select from these business objects:
      • Student Application
      • Student Prospect Record
      • Student Recruitment
    • When creating student eligibility rules, verify that the eligibility rule type includes
      Student Application Decision Policy
      in the
      Used For
      list.
When you render decisions, you can select a campus location or program of study decision policy to apply. You can view the resulting campus or program of study in the Admitted Campus and Admitted For fields on the
Decision
report on the Application profile group of student prospect profiles.
If a decision policy proposes a campus or program of study that presents complications, you can use the
Reconcile Decision Details
task to resolve the issues. To access this task, you must belong to the security group configured for the Reconcile Decision Details step on the
Student Application Decision Policy Event
business process. After you resolve the issues, the business process restarts.
