Steps: Set Up Award Letters and College Financing Plans

You can set up financial aid award letters and College Financing Plans to communicate education costs to students and prospects. Students can view and print their award letters and College Financing Plans through Workday. Applicants can print them from the student external site.
Workday provides a standard report for award letters and College Financing Plans, but you can use a custom layout instead. Report Designer in Workday Studio enables you to customize how to present the data as well as include a logo, custom messages, and other branding details.
Example: Use Report Designer to print award letters on your official letterhead.
Workday enables you to configure award notifications that meet the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) code of conduct and follow their guidance for improving award notifications. Workday doesn’t certify or guarantee compliance.
  2. Access the
    Maintain College Financing Plan Policy
     task.
    Assign the College Financing Plan configuration to an academic unit and level. You can also disable the configuration, which prevents all administrators and students from being able to print a College Financing Plan. If you disable, all subsequent academic units and levels will inherit your configuration.
    Security:
    Manage: Financial Aid Award Letters
     domain in the Financial Aid functional area.
  3. Copy the
    Financial Aid Financial Aid Offer
     or
    College Financing Plan
     standard report to a custom report to use in Report Designer.
  4. Create a custom layout for award letters or College Financing Plans with Report Designer.
  5. Access the
    Maintain Federal Student Aid Program Policy
     task.
    Select the custom layout on the
    Financial Aid Award Letter Report Layout
     or
    College Financing Plan
     prompts. Then, select an option on the
    Financial Aid External Site System User
     prompt.
Matriculated students and admitted applicants can print their own award letters and College Financing Plans.
