Reference: Types of Pell Load Status Units

Workday uses these key dates to calculate the Pell load status:
  • Pell Recalculation Date (PRD)
  • Initial Pell Award Date (IPAD)
  • Registration Date for Pell Processing (RDfPP)
  • Course Section Start Date (CSSD)
  • Final Pell Recalculation Date (FPRD)
Workday provides the following Pell load status unit types so students can receive appropriate financial aid when adjusting course enrollments:
Type
Description
Maximum Pell Load Status Units
The load status value as of the latest of PRD, IPAD, and RDfPP.
When a student enrolls into additional courses or drops after the latest of the PRD, IPAD, RDfPP but before the CSSD, the changes in the registration count up to the load status value of the latest PRD, IPAD, and RDfPP.
The value of the maximum Pell load status is the same for all 3 Pell (POS) Load Status types.
When a course counts toward Maximum Pell load status as of the FPRD, Workday continues to count the course even when it no longer satisfies the academic requirements after the FPRD.
The final Pell load status can never be higher than the maximum Pell load status. The only exception for this is when you override the final value.
You can view the Maximum Pell (POS) Units for the courses in an academic period on the
Pell (POS) Details
tab of the

task.
Potential Pell Load Status Units
The load status of any course a student registers for before its CSSD, regardless of the registration date in relation to the FPRD.
Potential Pell load status can be different from all 3 Pell load status types depending on whether:
  • The CSSD for the course section has passed.
  • The participation has been verified.
To account for the changes to the academic requirements, after the FPRD and CSSD have passed, Workday continues to count a course that satisfied an academic requirement as of those dates in potential Pell load status.
When you add a course after FPRD but before CSSD, Workday counts it for potential Pell load status if it currently satisfies an academic requirement.

Final Pell Load Status Units
The load status you can use for your calculations. It is the lesser of the maximum and potential load status values.
