Reference: Final Pell Recalculation Date Examples

Workday uses these key dates to calculate the Pell load status:
  • Pell Recalculation Date (PRD)
  • Initial Pell Award Date (IPAD)
  • Registration Date for Pell Processing (RDfPP)
  • Course Section Start Date (CSSD)
  • Final Pell Recalculation Date (FPRD)
This table illustrates how Workday determines the FPRD based on a period to period and student to student basis for different scenarios:
Course Type
Scenario
Example
FPRD
Non-modular
The student registers for courses before the term begins, and PRD is calculated after CSSD.
  1. The student registers for courses (IRD).
  2. The student receives the Pell award (IPAD).
  3. The courses begin (CSSD).
  4. Pell is recalculated (PRD).
FPRD is the PRD.
Non-modular
The student receives the Pell award after CSSD and PRD.
  1. The student registers for courses (IRD).
  2. The courses begin (CSSD).
  3. Pell is recalculated (PRD).
  4. The student receives the Pell award (IPAD).
FRPD is the IPAD.
Non-modular
The student registers for a course after CSSD and PRD.
  1. The student receives the Pell award (IPAD).
  2. The courses begin (CSSD).
  3. Pell is recalculated (PRD).
  4. The student registers for courses (IRD).
FPRD is the IRD.
Non-modular
The student fully withdraws from the courses (RDfPP) after CSSD.
  1. The student registers for courses (IRD).
  2. The student receives the Pell award (IPAD).
  3. The courses begin (CSSD).
  4. The student fully withdraws from courses (RDfPP).
  5. Pell is recalculated (PRD).
FRPD is the RDfPP.
Non-modular
The student fully drops from the courses before CSSD.
  1. The student registers for courses (IRD).
  2. The student receives the Pell award (IPAD).
  3. The student fully drops all courses (RDfPP).
  4. The courses begin (CSSD).
  5. Pell is recalculated (PRD).
FPRD is the PRD.
Modular
The student registers for multiple modules.
  1. The student registers for module A and C (IRD) of a term.
  2. The student receives the Pell award (IPAD) before the term begins.
  3. Module A courses begin (CSSD).
  4. Pell is recalculated for module A (PRD).
  5. Term PRD is calculated after module A ends.
  6. Module B courses begin (CSSD).
  7. Pell is recalculated for module B (PRD).
  8. Module C courses begin (CSSD).
  9. Pell is recalculated for module C (PRD).
FPRD is the PRD for the last module that the student registers for, that is, module C.
Modular
The student registers for multiple modules that excludes the last module.
  1. The student registers for module A and B (IRD) of a term.
The FPRD is the PRD for the last module the student registers for, that is, module B.
Modular
The student registers for courses in the last module of a three-module term.
  1. The student receives the Pell award (IPAD) before the term begins.
  2. Module A courses begin (CSSD).
  3. Term PRD is calculated after module A ends.
  4. Module B courses begin (CSSD).
  5. The student registers for module C (IRD) of a term.
  6. Module C courses begin (CSSD).
The FPRD is the IRD.
Modular
The student drops all courses for the registered modules before the term PRD and later re-registers for a module.
  1. The student registers for module A and B (IRD) for a term.
  2. The student receives the Pell award (IPAD) before the term begins.
  3. Module A courses begin (CSSD).
  4. The student drops or withdraws from all courses before the end of module A.
  5. Term PRD.
  6. Module B courses begin (CSSD).
  7. The student registers for module C (IRD) before module B ends and module C begins.
  8. Courses for module C begin (CSSD).
The FPRD is the IRD for the registrations in module C.
Modular
The student drops all courses for the registered modules after the term PRD and later re-registers for a module.
  1. The student registers for module A and B (IRD) for a term.
  2. The student receives the Pell award (IPAD) before the term begins.
  3. Module A courses begin (CSSD).
  4. Term PRD.
  5. Module B courses begin (CSSD).
  6. The student drops or withdraws from all courses before the end of module B.
  7. The student registers for module C (IRD) before module B ends and module C begins.
  8. Courses for module C begin (CSSD).
The FPRD is the term PRD.
