Change the Display Options for Line Notes

  • Matrix report.
  • Security:
    Access Reports
     permission.
The report builder sets the way line notes display using the report properties. Any report viewer can change how the notes display for their viewing session.
If you also have the
Modify All Reports
 permission, your display setting changes become the default for all viewers of the report. They can still change the display for their viewing session.
  1. Go to
    Reports
     and run a matrix report.
  2. From the toolbar, click the
    Notes
     button.
  3. As you select the display option in the
    Line Notes
     section of the drop-down menu, consider:
    Option Description
    Show in columns
    When you click the superscripts in the rows, a column opens to display the notes.
    Show as footnotes
    When you click the superscripts in the rows, the notes display in the bottom panel, after the report notes.
    Show inline
    When you click the plus icons in the rows, the notes display inline.
    Hide
    Rows with notes have a superscript, but you can't open the notes to review them.
  4. (Optional) Save the report to change the display setting for others.
