Display Alternate Calendars in Matrix Reports

  • Import alternate calendars in Time administration.
  • Matrix report.

You can add time elements from multiple calendars (default and alternate calendars) in a single report. You can then display and compare how data rolls up differently for different time granularities.
Example: Your business plan requires reporting for these calendars:
  • Labor Period Year. Structure: Week> Pay Period > Pay Year.
  • Fiscal Year. Structure: Week> Fiscal Month > Fiscal Quarter > Fiscal Year.
You add time elements from both calendars in your report to display how data rolls up differently for the 2 calendars.
You can use custom report calculations and the
Display As
element across different calendars. Also, you can:
  • Connect time periods from the same calendar to the same report parameter.
  • Add multiple report parameters connected to time, each pointing to a different calendar.
  1. Open a saved matrix report or create one.
  2. Click
    Edit
    to open the report builder.
  3. From the
    Elements
    tab, click
    Time
    .
    The alternate calendars display below the default calendar.
  4. Expand an alternate calendar to display the time elements in that calendar.
  5. Add time elements from alternate calendars to the report.
  6. (Optional) Add the
    Period To Date
    (PTD) time element to the report. Right-click the element and select
    Properties
    .
    As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Calendar
    Select an alternate calendar.
    Stratum
    Select a time element from the alternate calendar.
    PTD as of date
    Select the stratum as of date.
  7. (Optional) Add the Timespan time element to the report. Right-click the element and select
    Properties
    .
    As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Calendar
    Select an alternate calendar
    Timespan
    Select the timespan or specify a custom time range using the from and to dates.
    Includes
    Select the time elements to include from the alternate calendar.
