FAQ: Why Can't I Add a Manager to an Access Control Group?

FAQ: Why Can't I Add a Manager to an Access Control Group?

You can't add a manager to an access control group due to 1 or both of these reasons:
  • The manager doesn't yet manage anyone on Peakon.
  • The manager is not part of the segment that automatically populates the access group with users.

Background

Most access control groups intended for managers provide access to
Managed employees
, as opposed to
All employees.
If the group you're configuring uses the
Managed employees
setting, managers must already manage some employees or a segment, to be eligible potential members of the group. The drop down menu that displays when adding new managers to a group only contains eligible managers.
To resolve this, first assign the manager their direct reports or managed segment, and then add them to the group. See Assign Direct Reports to a Manager or Assign Segment Managing Access Manually for steps.
If the group you're configuring additionally uses segment targeting (Example: The group automatically adds all managers from the Europe segment), you only need to add the manager to the segment for them to be in the group. See Manage Users of an Automatically Populated Group.
