Manage Users of an Automatically Populated Group

If you've linked an access control group to a segment, anyone who can update employee records can indirectly add and remove employees from access control groups. Example: If you have a local administrator who manages employee records locally, they can indirectly manage access control group members.
The user interface doesn't indicate which segments you've linked to access control groups, so you need to instruct your stakeholders on which segments to use for employees.
It's also possible to update segment values from a data import, however the segment names that you use in the import must be an exact match to the existing segments in Peakon. If they're not an exact match, the import will create new segments that have no relevance to the access control group.
  1. Go to
    Administration
    Employees
    .
  2. Open the record of the employee that you need to add or remove from a segment-linked access control group.
  3. To add the employee to an access control group, click the attribute that populates the access group, then select a segment value from the drop-down that displays.
  4. To remove an employee from an access control group, click the attribute that populates the access control group, then empty the values.
  5. Save changes.
The result is effective immediately. Peakon doesn't automatically notify users of a change in their access.
You have created 2 manager access groups:
Managers with comments
 and
Managers without comments
. Additionally, you have created an attribute named
Manager access
. The attribute has 2 segments that match the 2 access group names, and you've linked the segments to the groups.
Local administrators can add users to either of these groups by selecting one of the segments from the
Manager access
 attribute on a manager's employee record. If that manager manages people or segments, they will become a member of the access group you've configured.
