FAQ: Onboarding and Exit Question Sets

FAQ: Onboarding and Exit Question Sets

How do I manage access rights for Onboarding and Exit?
Administrators can manage access rights for Onboarding and Exit on the question set toggles in each respective access control groups. Ensure you toggle on the question set for the relevant group. Segment-specific access allows you to grant specific users access to specific segments, such as giving an HRBP from London access to the Onboarding question set for the London office.
How are Onboarding and Exit different from core question sets?
Onboarding and Exit have the following differences to core question sets:
  • No question set overview dashboard.
  • No outcome question.
  • No external benchmarks.
  • No question set summary in Curated insights.
  • Not shown in Improve.
  • Currently no Semantic topics (In progress).
What happens when I change a segment for Hire date or Termination date?
When you change a segment, it affects how that segment appears across the product. After running a new survey round targeted at the updated segment, historical data will also reflect the new segment ranges. This change impacts other reporting features like True Benchmark, Attrition, and Employee Experience Cycle reports, altering their scores accordingly.
Who is the feature designed for?
The Onboarding and Exit question sets are designed for senior business leaders and HRBPs, particularly those overseeing processes. This feedback is most impactful at a macro level, where it can drive significant change. Managers are unlikely to see enough leavers or joiners for the data to be meaningful and actionable. Instead, company-wide decision-making is typically required for the insights gained from this feature.
How can I make sure employees synced through Workday get questions relevant to their current phase?
You can achieve this by using calculated fields in Workday to determine each employee's current phase. These calculations are then synced to custom attributes in Peakon. You can use these custom attributes to target specific questions, as well as manage onboarding and exit surveys. See instructions on the PDF attached to this page on Community.
How do I ask Exit questions to employees synced through the Workday integration?
To facilitate reporting, import termination dates in advance. If your organization relies solely on the Workday integration to sync data, set up calculated fields to sync future termination dates and reasons to Peakon. Refer to Set Up Calculated Fields for Future Separation Data for detailed instructions.
Why there isn't any benchmarking associated with these question sets?
There won’t be any external benchmarking for these new question sets because each organization has unique approaches to onboarding, with varying processes depending on the roles being onboarded. For some, onboarding might be a brief, week-long process, while for others, it could extend over 6 months, making it challenging to provide valid benchmarks. Additionally, onboarding is a process rather than a psychological concept like Engagement, so there’s no outcome tracked over time, and each question holds equal importance.
