Deactivate a Question

Deactivate a Question

Security:
Manage questions
.
You can deactivate an individual question to prevent it from displaying in surveys until you activate it again. Deactivating individual questions is beneficial when you don't want to deactivate the entire question set in a schedule.
Deactivating a question doesn't remove its historical data, which will continue to remain in place throughout the selected visibility period. As the visibility window moves forward with each round, old scores gradually drop out of the current dashboard of the inactive question. The same process happens if you delete the question instead. It's not possible to delete or hide scores of a deactived or deleted question.
Segment managers that have access to question configuration can only edit or deactivate questions that target the segment they manage.
It's not possible to deactivate the main question of each question set. However, as a workaround you can target it to an empty segment. See Set Question Targeting for instructions. Note that if the main score doesn't have any valid responses within your company's visibility window, it's not possible to export the PowerPoint for that question set.
  1. Go to
    Administration
    Question Library
    .
  2. Select the question set which contains the question that you need to deactivate. Example: Engagement.
  3. Select
    Edit
on the question you wish to deactivate.
  4. Unselect the
    Activate question
    checkbox.
  5. Update
    .
If you make changes to questions during a live round, the changes will reflect immediately for employees who didn't yet answer the survey. Employees that already opened the survey without completing it, might still see the old version due to browser cache.
