FAQ: How does Peakon decide which segment to hide due to an overlapping segment?
The algorithm protects individual identities by preventing users from deducing responses through the process of elimination. If you have access to two segments that overlap significantly, the algorithm calculates the difference in participant counts between them. If that difference is lower than your organization's required threshold, Peakon hides the smaller or more specific segment. This ensures that a single person (or a group smaller than the threshold) cannot be identified by comparing a large group against a slightly larger one.
