FAQ: Data Visibility

What is the typical data aggregation window across Peakon's customer base?
Most Peakon customers use the standard 1 year visibility window option. Some customers that survey frequently (Example: weekly) and reduce the visibility window to 3 months.
How should we decide what our visibility thresholds should be?
We recommend considering how many teams in your company are below your visibility threshold. Lowering the threshold gives more managers access to their dashboard, increasing the potential number of employees who will see meaningful change as a result of their survey replies.
Is it possible to configure the visibility window in a way that the dashboard only displays scores from 1 survey?
Yes, if the time between the soft close date of 2 surveys exceeds your visibility window.
How many days or weeks does each option cover?
  • 1 month equals to 4 weeks.
  • 3 months equal to 12 weeks.
  • 3 months equal to 12 weeks.
  • 1 year equals to 52 weeks.
If we change our visibility window (Example: From 1 year to 3 months), is the change effective immediately?
Although the change is typically instant, it can take up to a couple of hours for larger companies while Peakon recalculates all scores in the background.
If we change our visibility window back and forth (Example: From 1 year to 3 months, then again 1 year), what happens to dashboards?
The dashboard will display exactly as it was before you made the change without any losses to the data. Changing the validity window doesn't modify the answers, it simply acts as a layer above the collected survey answers.
Is it possible to apply different visibility windows across different areas in our organization?
The visibility and confidentiality settings are global.
Can different people see the same segment's dashboard differently?
If 2 managers manage the same segment and the segment has met all visibility and confidentiality thresholds, the segment's dashboard will appear the same to the 2 managers.
However, a manager may not be able to access a segment's dashboard due to a conflict with another segment that they can also access based on their configuration. Example: 1 unique employee between 2 segments could risk the employee's confidentiality.
Another user with access to that same segment may be able to display it if they don't have a conflict within their managed segments.
Why is a segment's dashboard not visible even though it met the minimum visibility thresholds?
The
Unique employees across two segments
setting controls the threshold for the number of unique employees that must exist between 2 similar segments for both segments to remain visible. If you have access to 2 similar segments and the number of unique employees is below your organization's selected threshold, 1 of the segments won't be available in your view.
This setting applies to each user depending on what other segments they can access, either as a segment manager or a manager of a hierarchy with subsegments.
What happens to the scores and dashboard of a question set if we deactivate it in a survey round?
If you don't use a question set in a survey round, it won't recalculate at the end of that round and its scores and highlighted drivers and segments won't change.
Each question set's dashboard uses the last survey round where you included question set as the reference point for calculating the validity window. As a result, when you switch between different question set dashboards, the validity windows can start and end at different times.
The next time you include that question set in a survey round, its scores will recalculate using the validity window.
